THERE is the need for Hausa and Yoruba Muslims to recognize indigenous Igbo Muslims as equally genuine and committed adherents of Islam despite their small population and, therefore, give them robust support in the area of da’wah.

The chairman of the Ebonyi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abas Egwu, said this in Abakaliki when he received the National Organising Secretary of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani, who visited ADS members in the state.
According to Egwu, it is imperative for the Muslims in other parts of the country to help in the areas of establishment of Arabic and Islamic schools and building of mosques for ease of practice of Islam and the propagation of the religion in the eastern part of the country.

He commended what he called the fairness and impartiality of the state government towards Islam and Muslims, describing Ebonyi as the only state in eastern Nigeria which has a Muslim pilgrims board that is independent of the Christian board.
Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani said he was in the state to meet members of the Abakaliki branch of the ADS to rub minds with them on the fortune of the organisation.

Kilani, a former chairman of the Ondo State Pilgrims Welfare Board and member, National Technical Committee on Hajj, commended the state government for looking after the welfare of pilgrims and for appointing Hausa and Yoruba as members of the board.
The leader of the Muslim community in the state and Vice President General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Dr Haroun Ajah, described ADS as a force to reckon with in the state.
He used the occasion to commend Dangote Group for donating items to the state’s Muslim community during the last Ramadan.
The Seriki Hausawa in the state, Alhaji Danjomo Gambo, who was equally visited by Alhaji Kilani, commended the ADS for its impact in the state.

Its obvious that there is a serious campaign going on recently about the so called "Igbo Muslims"
I don't know why the media/presidency is hell bent in creating what does not exist.
They desperately want to spread Islam in Ibo land which I know will never see the light of the day.

Who are the Igbo muslins?, I want to see them and touch them, are they ghosts ?, don't they come out during the day time ?.
Where are their different families ?
In which kindred do they belong in Ibo land ?
Don't tell me Afikpo Ebonyi state because I have been there. What I saw there are Muslims living in Ibo land not indigenous Muslims .
Islam and Ibo life style are totally incompatible.!

"Igbo muslims"will perpetually remain a fantasy in the skulls of those what want to spread Islam in Igbo land.
Igbos should be very steadfast in holding their Christian faith tenaciously because their region might to be the safest region in the future when the chips are down.. At least some of we Christian Yorubas will have where to run to when MURIC must have matured.
Just look at what what is happening in Nigeria...
NE: Boko Haram
SW: MUURIC
NW: Shi'a( I heard they are training some of them in the middle east recently)
NC: Herdsmen and one newly found terrorist group in Lafia.

Again, Igbos should not allow Islam to have root in their region because the consequences is going to be terrible .
