ODAVBERURHOBO Ladies Club of Delta State, Benin chapter has commended the O5 Initiative of the wife of the Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa for ensuring good health for the less privileged.
The founder of the Club who is also the State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Mary Iyasere gave the commendation when the club donated food and other items to the Mother of Divine Grace Orphanage Home, Asaba.
Chief Iyasere stated that Dame Edith Okowa’s 05 Initiative had touched the lives of virtually every Deltan, especially the health programme of the Initiative.
She stated that the Odavberurhobo Club had come to identify with the initiative which she said had improved the lives of the less privilege, the sick, the blind and the orphans, saying they had come to support her programme by donating to the orphanage home.
“We have heard and seen what Her Excellency is doing through her 05 Initiative programme and we have come to support her programme. We have come to key in into what the 1st Lady is doing in Delta State” Chief Iyasere said.
The President of the Club, Deaconess Celestine Oritsegbubemi Chokor, explained that the club was founded to reach out to people, to help the less privilege, saying “We brought this little token to support the 05 Initiative programme of Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa.”
According to Deaconess Chokor,”When you reach out to people you invariably reach out to God and God will reward you in return for the good you have done.”
The Matron-in-charge of the Orphanage, Rev Sister Agnes Effiom, thanked the wife of the State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Mary Iyasere and the members of the Club for supporting and identifying with the orphanage home. Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of food and other items to the home by the President of the Club, Deaconess Oritsegbubemi Chokor.
