Total E&P Nigeria Limited has put the value of its total investment in the Nigerian economy in the last five years at $10 billion.

The Executive General Manager, CSR, Mr. Vincent Nnadi, said this at the Total Business Sustenance for New Entrepreneurs Graduation ceremony that took place in Abuja.

Nnadi, in an interview, disclosed that the oil and gas conglomerate was also planning projects worth $16 billion and plans to use mostly local skills and talents in order to continue its fight against unemployment.

“We have for the first time recorded a high level of local content on this project and 77 per cent of it is fabricated in Nigeria,” Nnadi explained.

“It is a very large contribution to the economy and will be using local expertise.

“We have a very strong cooperative social responsibility.

“We have to support our society to progress by helping to solve some of the societal problem. One of these major problems is the issue of unemployment.”

On the skills acquisition training in conjunction with Toncia Energy Consulting and Professional Services Limited, Nnadi said the company would be monitoring the trainees to ensure smooth transitioning from training to practice.

“This is the second level of skills training we are doing. The first level was basic skill acquisition.

“We mentor them and will expose them backing them up with microfinance.

“We are also working with some banks to financially support some of the best business plans and even creating market opportunities for them.

“We will continue to monitor them along with Toncia Energy to make sure they are actually practicing what they have studied.”

One of the trainees of the program, Christiana Titus, expressed her gratitude to Total.

t

It is possible, there Community Development projects or CSR for the past five years can be amounting to if that.
They few upgrades you see in our high institutions are done by this IOCs, they donate most of the equipment and structures you see in our General and Teaching hospitals, including state owned hospitals.
The upgrade of most Secondary Schools are done by this IOCs.
Do you know they help in funding NDDC and IDP support projects.
Most of the projects state governors claim as been executed by them in the (oil producing states) are done by this IOCs if you doubt go and read the marble placards placed on the structures after commissioning or the project signpost when project is under construction.
They spend alot on security.

Being a Good person is like being a goal keeper. No matter how many goals you save, people will still Remember only the one goal you missed. Never be discouraged by what people say about you, don't mind them. Remember out of dirty soil germinates a good seed, out of hot fire the food is cooked, Even a black colour is the most favourite colour to others. *For your own information*, smart people don't touch charcoal but they eat what has been Cooked on charcoal, so some people may dislike you but Need your Help. Never lose hope but continue doing good to people.
Better days ahead..

The Buhari led government has initiated a lot of laudable project. See the good things about the gvernment not always speaking ill about it

Nigerians should stop relying on hearsay, do your own independent investigation.

Most assertion about the president is based on hearsay

No thanks to the multiplier effect of social media.

News traded on this platform has done harm instead of preferring solution

The truth is, multinational corporations like Total invests funds into community development projects but these funds are kidnapped by the high and mighty. If at all it gets invested only a fraction of the investments manifest, the rest are highjacked and kindnapped into the purse of the rich.

Rich getting richer.

On a more serious note, we need to give it to TOTAL.
Their EGINA project has been the pave setter in terms of local content. A record no other company have achieved since time imo river grin

The SNEPCO BONGA southwest /Aparo project which is believed to surpass in local content is still on delay mode despite the NEW DRILLING rig (ENSCO DS10) at BONGA now.

TOTAL, the place to be .....

I have not been to where they are producing oil on the ocean physically but I have a platform that can give them the go ahead and make them produce petrol, diesel and kerosine and it has been something I want to see physically apart from the theory aspect but this project still stand as a means to produce oil and gas and the $10 billion that they inject should spread to every sector when it is circulating

And why is the economy still stagnant for ages? There is a lot to hate this unwise and dishonest government for right now if you’re a person whose business depends on importing goods from anywhere in the world like China for example. A few years ago, you could get $1000 for about N200k to N250k, now it’s almost double that at N360k. And guess who controls/enjoying the topsy turvy FX rate, those BDC guys who are mainly Hausa.

If you’re not feeling the bite and still importing stuff, the tariffs at the ports is enough to give you heartaches and kill you. Many people are in the import/export business in Nigeria. The economy is not favourable for business right now.

So, who gets the blame for “making the economy this way”? The guy who promised to “you know, make it all better with a magical wave of his hands” during his campaign. The guy in whose regime, FX is now twice it’s regular value. I don’t know about other people but anyone who messes with my sources of income will be hated with every fibre of my being.

In our history as Nigeria.Only the un-educated and un-informed will support this destructive and unintelligent government .
