At early hours of today August 1, 2018, the indigenes and inhabitants of the second largest city in oyo state, Ogbomoso took to the street to express their grievances to the government on the abandoned section of the new expressroad between Ibadan and Ilorin. The Oyo to Ogbomoso session of the road has been abandoned despite the fact that government vote so much money for this project...even the Sukkuk bond from the federal government. The construction of the road was flagged off by Olusegun Obasanjo administration in 2001 and since then the Ibadan to Oyo and Ogbomoso to Ilorin section have been completed and left with only Oyo to Ogbomoso. The current road being used...tagged Old road is nothing but a death trap to many travellers and the road has claimed several lives from all walks of life, and this has been on a daily basis. The people of ogbomoso now called upon the federal government to do the needful.

it is pathetic, that road is a death trap especially section 3.From ogbomoso to Oyo.situation where by government will pay token to contractor to work for just 2 months and wait for another 10 months before another fund is released is the major problem.when they will come out and say FEC release so and so amount make me laf sometime. we are in the system and I can tell you that nothing is happened I mean nothing.government should try and do more. 3 Likes |

If we can come out in numbers like this to protest and not just to stand at one campaign ground to hear rhetorics of another gimmick politician.. in no time, we would see a Nigeria we want. NE,NC,SE,SS,NW,SW stands with you on this protest... we hope you would reciprocate likewise when others protest grievances aswell.. 2 Likes |

Oyo - Ogbomosho is one of the deadliest road in Nigeria, despite the narrowness, it is filled with sharp corners. 85% of tankers and trailers moving to the north from Lagos passes through this route. 4 Likes |

The construction of the road was flagged off by Olusegun Obasanjo administration in 2001 Nigeria earned $788 billion under 16 years of the looting and stealing PDP, Nigeria is still in darkness with thousands of abandoned projects all over Nigeria. The present administration can not complete thousands of abandoned projects all over Nigeria in less than 3 years, the people of Oyo and Ogbomosho just have to wait and be patient. God Bless PMB for finishing these abandoned projects. |
