Federal Government is to construct about 243-kiliometre rural roads and reconstruct 375-kilometre roads for farmers in seven northern participating states under the International Fund for Agriculture Development, Climate Change Adaption and Agribusiness Support Programme, IFAD-CASP, to ease transportation of their farm produce to potential market places. The seven northern states are Borno, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, announced this while flagging off the rehabilitation of the 2.5-kilometre Tambu-Makasauro Road in Daura area of Katsina State. Ogbeh said 22 rural roads within a distance of 59.09 kilometres will be rehabilitated this year with drainage, culverts and drifts. He said the roads would benefit about 7,000,000 persons and farmers within the participating states, while noting that the intervention of rural infrastructure was to unlock vast and enormous potentials in the rural areas. Earlier, National Programme Coordinator, Climate Change Adaption and Agribusiness Support Programme, CASP, Alhaji Muhammad Idah, said rehabilitation of the erosion-prone roads will accelerate economic growth on a sustainable basis, improve agricultural production, facilitate easy access to farms and transportation of farm inputs and produce to the markets, as well as reduce vulnerability of smallholder farmers, particularly women and youths. Very funny and laughable, seven states out of Thirty six state? This is what we are saying. Let's restructure the country they say No. It's regional Government that supposed to handle this kind of project and it's not other way round.

I certainly believe in the PMB Administration, this government is a working government, this is a positive development carried out by the PMB Administration...This government has the interest of the masses at heart and has looked into the construction of the roads in the rural areas to create easy movement for the people going about their business.. Good job Mr President
