EFCC Raids Ita Ekpeyong’s House In Abuja by abc115: 3:27pm On Aug 09, 2018
Anti-graft operatives have raided the residence of Ita Ekpeyong, a former director-general of the State Security Service (SSS).

The officers, believed to be from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrived Mr Ekpeyong’s home just before noon on Thursday, in an anti-corruption raid that was reportedly sanctioned by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Mr Ekpeyong led the SSS between 2010 and 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari replaced him with Lawal Daura, himself now removed from office.

The property being raided is located in Asokoro, Abuja. An attempt was previously made to search it in November 2017, but Mr Daura prevented it, sparking a stand-off that nearly turned fatal between SSS and EFCC operatives.

The EFCC then accused Mr Ekpeyong of being culpable in the arms purchase scandal that rocked the exit of President Goodluck Jonathan. Scores of individuals and firms have been identified as allegedly sharing in the mismanaged funds, which were earmarked for the war against Boko Haram.

It was not immediately clear whether today’s raid at Mr Ekpeyong’s home, which government gave to him after his exit as DG of SSS, was a continuation of the botched search from last year.

When PREMIUM TIMES visited the house, there was a heavy presence of armed police officers on both entrances to the street as well as by the house. Hilux security vehicles were also parked close to the house.

The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, did not return calls and an sms sent to him about the raid.

Why is the clueless government yet to raid the house of Lawal Daura, Lawal Babachir, Abba Kyari, AGF, Adamu Muazu(who was alleged to have received part of the alleged looted arms scandal funds), Danbazzua, Buratai among the many confirmed criminals of the APC government

I wonder how much magu fears lawal daura and the kind of thick relationship between daura and buhari, that it was only after his arrest that he could start this now,and I also wonder how much say daura has in this administration, remember he gave the go-ahead for the AGF to meet with Maina former pension boss.Someone will still say buhari is competent.

Stop this high level autism

Lawal is from Duara and was nominated to the DSS position by Maman Duara.

Let's wait and see what they will charge Duara for (that's if they drag him to court) because I know it won't be for laying siege on the NASS as this was done with presidential approval, directives and backing.

And is yet to get any case concluded?

Before you mention the two convicted ex-governors know that criminal investigation and their trials began prior to APC coming to power.

Not just coincidence, since they're from the same place they became related,u can always finger his hand in all sorts of atrocities and the president will suddenly turn a blind eye, starting from writing report against magu, stopping Efcc from the former DSS boss, and why do u think the No 1 lawyer will resort for advice from the DSS boss to meet a corruption indicted person outside the country and the president will know nothing about it,Even after hearing would do nothing about until it dies down,or are u currently hearing about Maina again?
