I came across an article yesterday explaining how every Nigerian owes China N15,000. True as it may be, we must view the issue from the roots. If every Nigerian is owing China, how much does everyone in Nigeria own in the first place?
With the effort the federal government has put in to grow our foreign reserve which had been epilectically depleted, our foreign reserve now stands at over $47.62 billion and counting. Now if we employ simple mathematics and divide this by our 198 million population, it will be about N85,000 set aside for every Nigerian. That is, besides what we generate and spend daily, we all have 85k reserved for each of us somewhere. Even if you add all other debts Nigeria is owing, it's not up to 85k per Nigerian. So we really have nothing to worry about. The government has got you all covered.
