Osun Accountant General resigns over alleged use of N11.5bn Paris Club Fund for APC campaign

Osun Accountant General, Mr Alaba Kolawole has resigned in the midst of controversies surrounding the alleged diversion of N11.5bn Paris Club fund secretly released to Osun State by the Federal Government into the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the State governorship election.

The Accountant General has already written to all the states’ banks notifying them that effective from Monday September 10th, he would cease to be the Accountant General of the state of Osun.

A source told WazobiaReporters that “the sudden resignation may not be unconnected with the unusual instructions by Governor Rauf Aregbesola for the disbursement of billions of Naira from the State treasury for the election of his stooge, Gboyega Oyetola.

“The controversial governor had earlier on approved unusual extension of service for the Accountant General, whose last day in office was supposed to be July 31st, 2018.

“The Governor’s plan is to hold on to the Accountant General until he leaves office to keep his secrets.

“However, the Accountant General became lukewarm towards release of fund because of the implication on his career.

“The last straw was the N11.5bn Paris Club refund, which was supposed to be used for payment of outstanding salaries of workers but was diverted into the APC campaign fund.”
APC Osun looting the state while the masses are suffering.

PDP LINKS 16 BILLION NAIRA ELECTION FUNDS RELEASED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO SUDDEN RESIGNATION OF OSUN ACCOUNTANT GENERAL

The sudden and controversial resignation of the Accountant-General of Osun State, Mr Alaba Kolawole has been linked to the secret disbursement of a sum of 16.67 billion Naira election funds to the state by the Federal Government.

The state chapter of the PDP stated this today in a Press statement issued by the Chairman of the party, Hon Soji Adagunodo.

The party added that the development also confirmed the several concerns raised by the PDP about the manner in which the State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been handling the finances of the State in the last 8 years.

While berating the Federal Government for secretly funding the APC election through a selective disbursement of Paris club refund to Osun state, the PDP said it has cause to suspect that the Accountant-General was being coerced into authorising illegal payments of monies to several persons and phoney companies from the state accounts; hence his recourse to resigning from office.

" We also have it on good authority that top officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Accountant-General have raised concerns about the manner in which Governor Aregbesola was applying another sum of 13 billion Naira recently refunded to Osun state for Federal roads purportedly rehabilitated by the State.

The party wondered why the Governor was finding it difficult to offset part of the 34-month arrears of salaries and pensions of workers from the money released by the Federal Government.

The Statement therefore calls on anti-graft agencies to beam their search-light into how the over 30 billion Naira recent 'windfall' is being spent by the Aregbesola administration.

The PDP also warned top civil servants against conniving with the outgoing administration to use public funds for the forthcoming governorship election or for any other illegal purposes.

We have it on good authority that APC Ward Chairmen in all the 23 LGAs in Rivers State are currently paid huge monthly salaries direct from NIMASA's Account.

Our source who is one of the beneficiary boldly and boastfully displayed the confirmation from his mobile phone in a bid to lure our agent to join the APC in Rivers

I have said it repeatedly and I will say it again that Aregbesola is a devilish human being whom a sane person should completely dissociate from.

In fact, Osun people should not stop cursing this Lagos thug turned-governor as they had been doing. There are many lives this 'eni epe' has ruined with his deceitful and hypocritical governance!

1. It is when election is fast-approaching he remembers to appoint abnormal number of commissioners (close to 50) despite his usual rhetorics before that there is no money to finance such appointments! Worst of it, nobody was chosen as either SA, SSA or Commissioner from Apomu, the headquarters of Isokan LG.

2. It is when election remains few days he remembers to begin rehabilitation of Iwo-Osogbo road he had neglected for good seven and half years despite his promises two times when campaigning in 2007 and 2014 respectively! Chai! O ma se o...!

3. It is when he wants to impose a crony called Ileri-Esu Gboyega Oyetola on Osun people he remembers to pay full salaries for workers after 3 years!

4. It is when election remains few days to hold he wants to employ over 20,000 youths deceitfully. The youths he has impoverished their parents and ruined their lives for good seven and half years due to incessant strike actions!

5. It is when election remains few days to hold that mad governor remembers to give N10,000 each to the market women he deliberately impoverished for good seven and half years.

6. It is when election is fast-approaching he remembers to appoint Chief of Staff from Iwo! Wèrè!

Honestly speaking, whoever calls this fetish and diabolical Rauf Aregbesola a human being needs to be examined 'upstairs'

Press Statement

N16b Secret Release To Osun Is Corruption, PDP Tells Buhari.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accuses President Muhammadu Buhari of aiding corruption in the secret release of over N16.6 billion Paris Club fund to Osun state.

PDP says its investigation has revealed that the N16.67bn is to be diverted as bribe to INEC officials, compromised international observers as well as pay hoodlum contracted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its desperate plot to rig the September 22, 2018 Osun Governorship elections.

The party said it is reprehensible that President Buhari, whose handlers have been parading as ‘Mr. Integrity’, could approve such dark scheme to convert funds meant for payment of several months’ arrears of workers’ salaries to bribe electoral officers and pay thugs to foist a rejected leadership on an already impoverished people.

Further investigation reveals that bulk of the money has already been penciled for sharing to APC leaders, especially at the national level, as bribe, to short-circuit the system to favour President Buhari’s relection bid, while the people of Osun continue to suffer deprivation.

The PDP has been further made aware of how part of the fund will be moved to private company accounts as well as various hidden locations for the compromised INEC officials and APC leaders.

Indeed, these revelations have clearly shown that the Buhari Presidency and the APC care less about the welfare of Nigerians and have completely sold themselves to sleazes and corruption for selfish gains.

The PDP therefore charges the people of Osun State, particularly the workers to rise up and reject this direct assault on their rights, sensibilities and survival as a people, by the APC, which have become notorious for corruption and subversion of rules.

Moreover, the PDP has been at alert regarding the movement of these funds and other secret deals between the APC and INEC and will not hesitate to expose the INEC officials, including a close relation of the President, who has been the arrow head of plots to rig elections for the APC.

The PDP invites the world to note how President Buhari and the APC, who were huge beneficiaries of credible elections conducted by the PDP in 2015, are bent at destroying our hard-earned democracy, just because they have been rejected by Nigerians.

Nevertheless, in spite of these machinations, the PDP wants the APC to know that it has not retracted the resolve to contend with it head to head, in all ramifications and magnitude, to discomfit and dismantle its rigging machinery, beginning with September 22, 2018 Osun state governorship election.

The PDP commends state governors, particularly a few in the APC, who have spoken out against this sneaky act by the Buhari Presidency.

Our party will continue to work with these patriotic individuals in the overall quest to free our nation from the shackles and misrule of the Buhari-led APC.

Kola Ologbondiyan

Things, however, took a different turn last week over alleged instructions issued to Kolawole on election campaign funds, which he found odd and unable to carry out.

- They owe you 24mths salary but are willing to give you 10k trader money,

- Do you think if the paris fund was to be used for salaries arrears, kolawole would resign?

- Alphabeta rakes billions monthly but its your salaries they want to finance their cousins election.

Think Nigeria... think
