The Secrets Behind Bishop David Oyedepo Success In Ministry And Wealth by joseph6071: 5:38am On Sep 09, 2018
For a long time now, there has been great controversies on how the great man of God, Bishop David Oyedepo was able to build his church to be this successful and how he has managed to acquire so much wealth. Those were achieved based on some principles he set around himself. there was a time when he said he was speaking somewhere, and some people said he was able to achieve all that because he is just lucky and his reply to them was that "IF YOU CAN BE AS WORKY AS I AM, THEN YOU CAN BE AS LUCKY AS I AM".

Today I will be revealing some of the secrets behind his wealth and ministry that rare to find, and this secrets are based on the core values he gave to his university, Covenant University, it is shortened to "SIMCARDS", Meaning Spirituality, Integrity, Possibility Mentality, Capacity Building, Responsibility, Diligence and Finally Sacrifice. I will be writing on all these based on the story of his life and his journey as a Christian leader.

SPIRITUALITY
There is no doubt at all that he has been living a spiritual life ever since he gave his life to Christ. He has always had a strange passion for God (he never knew it would be his lifetime assignment) after he gave his life to Christ in the year 1969, that was when he was 15 years old, he got the privilege of preaching his first message in 1970 and from then he has had all kinds of opportunity in one leadership position or another in the body of Christ.

At 1973, when he was 19 years old, he was privileged to Co found a church, which was his first pastoral experience. He went to a remote village for a 71 day work vacation time there, and he asked them if there was any church there and they said no, he said "not even Catholic?" And the response was still no, then he knelt down in his little hurt and said "God, may I never leave this village the same way I met it", by then he had no calling to ministry, so they (he and Abraham) started one on one evangelism, he was the preacher, Abraham was the interpreter because he understood the language of the place. And in 40 days he was able to build a grassroot church in the village. The day he was leaving the village, the oldest man in the village handed over to him a mysterious gift, a lantern and said to him "The light you have shined upon this village, let it shine though you to the whole world".

At age 27, he received the mandate from heaven to go into ministry and from then till now, he has been waxing stronger and stronger in the spiritual journey.

INTEGRITY
He has had a vow never to give any bribe whatsoever to any mortal man whether living or dead, there was a time I was listening to him and he said that when he was building the church faith tabernacle then, one man called him to a corner and said to him that if he wants to complete the building he has to settle some people around (give bribe), else they won't make him complete it and his reply was "You devil, you think I am faking it here?" And the man stood up and ran to a point that his shoe fell off and he told him to come and pick up his dirty shoes. When the went back to where they were initially with other people, he didn't say a word but a bee from nowhere flew and passed other people just to sting that particular man alone. Lol.

At least, since he started his ministry till now, he has not being held guilty in the aspect of his integrity in any way whatsoever.

POSSIBILITY MENTALITY
the problem most people have after getting a vision for their life is that they do not keep it up, they do not have a positive mentality that it is possible, so they are not even pushed in any way to try it.

According to him, destiny in the kingdom is not a destination, but an adventure, when you arrive at a point, God asks if you are ready for the next and if you are, he lifts you up. 1982, he heard from God, 17 years before it happened that at the base of the ministry that there shall be a tent that will seat 50,000 people, that would have been a benchmark for him, but no, it was a baseline for him. Now first 50,000 filled, second filled, third filled, forth filled.

It is only possibility mentality that makes a giant, because only those that dare are the ones that deliver. There was also a time he met a friend in Israel and they were having a casual discussion and the friend said "here in Israel, we do not have oil, we do not have gold, neither do we have diamonds, our resources are within the skull, our most valuable resources are underneath the skull". That got the hair of Bishop David Oyedepo up (not much of it though..lol), and he began thinking that what was underneath his skull that could turn a desert land into a fertile land, and could turn a desert nation into a food exporting nation and you can see what he is doing through Landmark University on food production.

CAPACITY BUILDING
Bishop David Oyedepo spends quality time in building his capacity in different fields of relevant to him. He said when he was young, while other kids were playing, he would move to a nearby school to study to build himself on his communication skills because he knew that at any leadership position one finds himself, he must communicate effectively for accurate results.

After God told him to build covenant university, time was invested in searching and researching what kind of university they are heading for, so models were reviewed from a thousand years plus behind to the present. He did explorative studies of Oxford, Yale, Harvard and many more great schools, so as to bring a new generation type of school., to find a bearing for the university vision. And you can see how far the university is going today .

RESPONSIBILITY
He has always carried a sense of responsibility ever since. Since the inception of the Living faith church, he has been out only 3 times , he has not had any vacation for over 30 years now. Even if he is out of the country, he flies into the country so as to be in church on Sundays. Even if it is 4am in the morning.

DILIGENCE
success and diligence can't do without each other. For one to be successful in any endeavor, diligence must play a vital part in his life and Bishop David Oyedepo has no slacked in that aspect.

Before now, he has maintained a work schedule of 16 hours everyday without any complains. The last time I heard him speak, he said it is more now. He has so many investments, and he makes sure all or them are put into place.

He stayed with his grandmother most of his life and she taught him alot, some of which are and I quote "those who don't sit today, shouldn't expect to be masters tomorrow, so sit on your job","never depend on your father's inheritance, or you will offer yourself over to poverty", "your work Is what determines your worth, not what people think about you" and many more. He learnt quite a lot, which is one of the reasons he is where he is today.

SACRIFICE
Not so many people will not have vacation for 30 years or travel just to reach out to people like he does. He goes out by himself to do the work of God always (evangelism).

So when you see that he is succeeding this much, just have it at the back of your mind that he puts in alot into it. And God have really been helping him through the journey of life...

Not everyone is willing to pay the price of greatness. Many are after the feat but not the cost of achieving the feat.
