I bet you that most of the issues has to do with the transmission! |
Re: Why Do I Always Find Babyboys In The Mechanic Workshop? by Nobody: 9:29am On Jul 03, 2010 |
The majority of automatic transmission's are prone to failure, some just seem to last longer than others. If Nigerians would embrace manual trannies, which are maintainance-free, they'd have removed a massive chunk of unreliability from their cars. Manual trannies are a lot more robust, don't need any servicing, the oil is generally filled for life from the factory, and so doesn't require periodic flushing, and replacement. |

Hi Siena thanks for the prompt reply will give you a call later, have a 406 that am thinking of converting to LHD and exporting or getting rid off, looking forward to your newaudi build, have a renault alpine GTA myself needs some work but there never seems to be enough time to give it the TLC it deserves. |

Renault Alpine!! A rare breed indeed, last one I worked on was back in 2002! Nice cars, and with a high content of plastic used in the body, rust will never be a problem. |
Re: Why Do I Always Find Babyboys In The Mechanic Workshop? by ibadan1(m): 11:54am On Jul 03, 2010 |
Thanks Siena actually used to belong to the now defunct Group B car club had a mid engined renault 5 turbo 2 beforethe Alpine the missus made me sell it said i was paying it too much attention, from your posts I deduce you are still at an age where you like shifting (driving a Manual) the older you get like me the more you realize that autos are the way to go, you havent lived till you have gotten stuck in stop and start traffic on western avenue for 4 hours. Thats why Nigerins are so into thier Autos. |

1)Baby boys are older than the EODs so you should expect to see more baby boys at the mechanic workshop. 2)Baby boys are more common on the roads so the chance of seeing more baby boys at the work shop should be more. @Siena, those are nick-names given to various year models of Honda Accord.Eg:- Halla:1991 to 1993 Bullet and Bulldog:1994 to 1997.('97 bulldog AKA Academy)('96 to97 bullet AKA Tigerface) Baby boy: 1998 to 2002. End of Discission (EOD):2003 to 2005 Discussion continues:2006 to 2007 Anaconda:2008 to date |

Hi Siena did not mean to insinuate that you are a grandpapa. im a mid sixties guy myself and find that driving a manual in london traffic is a bit lke pulling teeth without novocain can you recommend a car make that is real easy to convert about year 2000 thanks. saw on one of your other posts that the 406 is not modular construction thus is not easy to convert |
Re: Why Do I Always Find Babyboys In The Mechanic Workshop? by Nobody: 9:14pm On Jul 04, 2010 |
No worries, Ibadan. I took your "grandpa" tag in good jest. As for cars with modular construction, thus easy to convert: Audi A3 8P (2003 - present). Audi TT 8J (2006 - present). Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005). Audi A4 B7 (2004 - 2008). Audi A4 B8 (2008 - present). Audi A6 C6 (2004 - present). Volkswagen Golf V - (2003 - 2009). Volkswagen Golf VI - (2009 - present). Volkswagen Jetta A5 - (2005 - present). Volkswagen Passat B6 (2005 - present). Peugeot 206 (1998 - 2010). Peugeot 207 (2007 - present). Peugeot 307 (2001 - present). Peugeot 308 (2007 - present). Peugeot 407 (2004 - present). Citroën C2 (2003 - 2009). Citroën C3 (2002 - present). Citroën C5 (2001 - present). |
