…Laud his giant development strides, peace initiatives

Former Commissioners in Enugu State under the auspices of Forum of Enugu State Former Commissioner (FEFCOM), on Monday unanimously endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for a second term in office.

Members of the forum, who conveyed the message to Gov. Ugwuanyi when they paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Enugu, stated that the decision was in appreciation of his administration’s giant development strides, peace and security initiatives, and all-inclusive policy.

They said they were highly impressed that Gov. Ugwuanyi has kept faith with “his promise of seamless transition by continuing with most of the developmental policies of his predecessor especially the Visit Every Community (VEC) initiative which His Excellency has expanded by creating a full directorate with one of us as the head”.

The elated group, which has the immediate past Commissioners for Local Government Affairs (Hon. Barr. Okey Ani) and Rural Development (Hon. Dr. Eric Oluedo) as conveners, added that the governor has been ensuring prompt payment of workers’ salaries and retirees’ pensions “resulting in the payment of one extra full month salary to every Civil/Public Servant in Enugu State to celebrate the 2017 Christmas”.

The former members of the State Executive Council disclosed that Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration has completed the Enugu State Diagnostic Centre and has also commenced the construction of 200-bed Igboano Specialist Hospital, Enugu, noting that “the initiation of the International Medical City Agu-Ekwegbe is very impressive”.

On peace and security, the forum commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for ensuring that “Enugu State continues to be ranked as the safest state in Nigeria as recently pronounced by the Inspector General of Police”.

They maintained that “the recent provision of Hilux Vans, equipped with sophisticated security gadgets is a proof that the life and security of every resident of Enugu State are the primary concern of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration”, stressing that “businesses are springing up simultaneously in the three senatorial districts of the state”.

The former cabinet members also applauded the governor for constructing five ultra-modern fire service stations across the three senatorial districts of the state, after 56 years, as well as the unprecedented employment of over 4000 primary and secondary school teachers.

On politics, the ex-Commissioners said: “Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has through his political sagacity brought stability in the polity of Enugu State and has gone ahead to reach out to other political parties other than his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in his firm belief that governance is about the people and not based only on political leanings”.

According to them, “the grant of N10 million to each of the 450 autonomous in Enugu State for the execution of projects that are dear to the hearts of their people and the immediate release of the sum of N5million as part of the grant, is in consonance with Governor Ugwuanyi’s development thrust”.

Responding, Gov. Ugwuanyi thanked them for their support and endorsement, appreciating the worthy service they rendered to the state while in office. #amokelouis.

Fine people smiley
I feel so ashamed of my state Imo whenever I see this governor and what he's achieved so far in Enugu state. If he's not achieved a lot then he's tried to maintain the achievement of his predecessors.

Enugu is one of the two working states in the South-East, the city is the most peaceful and serene city in Nigeria; pictures and field research can support this assertion.

Okorocha should get ready next year, we will show him the media style and give him a run for his few bags of money. Imo state is too sophisticated to be run like one person, as Tinubu is running Lagos. I mean it's has never happened before, aside the 8 years of Achike Udenwa, no single party or a selected cabal has successfully won and maintained the governorship seat on a parallel.

Get your PVC ready guys! The only thing that can stop our vote (our mind) from counting is when we sell it for peanuts. let's shun voting based on tribal and religious differences because suffering knows no tribe is Nigeria. Let's say no to learned Helplessness!

ENUGU STATE & THE ODDITIES OF ENDORSEMENT BAZAAR:

Its indeed, heart wrenching and very great disservice to Enugu state, that while other states of the federation are commissioning built projects, to palliate & assuage the debilitating nerve wrecking penury within the polity,

Enugu state government, has embarked on a perdition detour of filtering away, our collective patrimony in a jamboree ENDORSEMENT GALORE of a governor, who in the past forty months of his administration, has no major project attributed to him, yet, he wants a second tenure by paying all manner of charlatans to endorse him.

To have opted for a cheap endorsement strategy instead of flaunting his achievements, is a glaring testimony that he has failed as a governor. He has stigmatized governance with sheer lack of road map which is an indispensable prerequisite for a dynamic & robust governance at the expense of NDI ENUGU.

To say that Enugu state has been in the doldrums since the emergence of Gov. Ugwuanyi amounts to over flogging the facts. Its therefore, most unfortunate, repudiating and worrisome that the government of Rt. Hon. Lawrence Ugwuanyi, in the past forty two months, cannot point to any major project or investment stride attributed to him,

What a set back for Enugu state that use to be a pace setter?, the governor is very well known for his big heart & buoyed generosity in given out largess to pals & political fratelli, but governance transcends such a trajectory as its based on vision & not ambition.

Governance is all about vision, creativity & ability to manage people & resources so as to optimize the political dividends for the good of the people, these germain hallmarks are none existent in this government.

His benevolence includes but not limited to doling out money to people at social functions, market places, hospitals & other sundry places instead of deploying same, for infrastructures that could serve a wider perspective.

Government is not & shall never be a father Christmas but unfortunately, that's the sordid state of things in Enugu state. While other states are commissioning major projects & wowing investors into their States,

Enugu state is building culverts & inaugurating pool betting & lotteries among pauperized indigenes, these shows you the level of thinking within the government & the amount of decay inherent in the welfare of NDI ENUGU.

The salient questions are: how many times have you seen Enugu state government showcasing their achievements on the television channels?, never, because they have nothing to show, only waste & profligacy, how many times have you seen Enugu youths & artisans attend empowerment programs both here & outside?,

How many schools have you seen getting facelifts?, how many hospitals have you seen been revitalized?. All You see on the social media & others are propagandry 'G17' & their ENDORSEMENTS therapy, one would therefore ask, when has endorsement become an achievement?,

NDI ENUGU should wake up & take up their destinies in their own hand as eight wasteful years in a life of a state, is a colossal draw back, time to act is now.

The governor has become a PAYMASTER for praise singers. If the governor has performed, he would have leveraged on same for his second tenure, but in the face of his abysmal performances, he's now resorting to all manner of ridiculous tactics including the laughable endorsement scheme, his only achievement so far.

Its therefore very imperative that NDI ENUGU must wake up now to rescue their state or brace up for another wasteful & barren four years while her neighbouring states are on the move.

This is not about party. Left for me both APC and PDP should be scrapped because they are the same. We are talking about rational assessment of an incumbent governor. His predecessors performed way better than him and judging from the way and manner he is throwing money around to lowlife sycophants to launder his image, there's no likelihood that he will match the achievements of his predecessors let alone outperforming them.

Our Governor is not paying attention to the whole of Enugu metropolis that is in a terrible mess now he's embarking on a white elephant projects and cheap propaganda because election is around the corner.

All the roads in Uwani, Kenyetta Road, the whole of Idaw River Layout (umuchu, Mount, Ikiriki, Omachiana, Ozalla) is amongst the worst, look at the whole Achara Layout: Awkunanaw Street, Etudo, Obianodo, Igbariam, Ubaka to mention but a few. I don't want to talk about the roads in Abakpa or the ones in Emene but remember to wear diving gears if you want to follow Annunciation HOSPITAL road or Sooil Plaza Road. Ebony Paint Road as well as One-Day road are terribly in deplorable conditions so are all adjoining roads in their respective axis.

All the link roads from Enugu-PH express are terrible: the road linking the express to and from Amaechi flyover, the road linking Enugu - PH express to and from Ugwuaji fly over, Ugwuaji road is death trap, Oji River link road to Enugu - Onitsha Express to mention but a few.
Almost all the primary and secondary schools in the state are in deplorable condition.
The State Library before Ogbete is a house of rodents and hudlums.. His predecessors left high standards that he has never come close to making a match.

Sullivan did marvelously well, look at Akwatta in Ogbete, a right thinking Governor should have made it a priority to complement Sullivan's achievements on the road by doing something to the two roads leading to and from the market knowing fully well that the place contributes considerable quota in IGR of the state. Same goes to the industrial layout at Red Cross Road at Holy Ghost and the defunct Industrial Estate at Zik Avenue after First Bank before MTN office.

Rural Communities like Ogulogu in Ezeagu, Iwollo etc will believe that Christ's second coming will happen more quickly than their roads receiving government attention.

He knows he has done nothing commensurate with the funds the state is receiving from federal government that's why he spends a lot on image laundering.

Attn: babygiwa, OEPHIUS, chinwe1960, technuel, netoc65, StateNews, Gboy101 and many others.

We know lots of you are doing your jobs as paid propagandists and image launderers. The hustle is real and unemployment rate is high but be mindful of the fact that everyone is well aware of his non performance. We are aware that you people pay your way to Frontpage in Nairaland. Some even make the mods to hide or ban opposing views all in the name of hustle.
No be una fault sha but u people should know that Enugu State has never had it this bad.
