Barring any last minute changes, four popular filling stations on Ikorodu road, Lagos Mainland, will be demolished by the Lagos State Government to make way for fresh developments in the axis, InsideMainland can authoritatively report.

InsideMainland reliably gathered that four filling stations including Oando branch at Maryland and Idiroko, Mobil at Maryland and Conoil along Anthony, Ikorodu road will be demolished by the government to make way for a road expansion and the construction of new BRT lanes and parks.

At the moment, the filling stations have been marked for demolition by the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development with some businesses occupying the properties already shut down.

In addition, some of the businesses had already laid off staff members owing to the effect of the development on their operations.

Speaking to InsideMainland, a source at one of the affected filling stations told InsideMainland that the government officials first visited the location in August 2018 before returning later to shut the branch, marking it for demolition.

I think the title is a little bit misleading, this isn't the first petrol station the Lagos State government will be acquiring and demolishing to make way for bus park, how many of them have you heard sued the Lagos State government ?

Lagos is a civilised state, the government can't just demolish buildings cos they want to. It's more of Lagos State paid the owners some decent Amount to make way for the parks. A government can't just demolish or acquire properties without due process

Someone asked me yesterday what I benefitted from Ambode's government. I replied that he built 2 bus stops in my area and put iron net.

When someone has failed in managing little things, what probability is there that he would manage big things properly.

Lagos is dirty and you're building bus stops. When that transport project is completed Ambode lacks the ability to manage it. It would end up like Visionscape. Waste money on nonsense.

By the way. Who has noticed the poor quality of roads done from Ikeja Along to Abule Egba? That road is a reflection of Ambode's government. That road is a sin.
