The screening and confirmation was in accordance with the letter from the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, requesting for the screening and confirmation of the nominee which was read on the floor of the house by the speaker, Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani.



During the screening exercise, leader of the house, Martin Amaehule moved that the nominee who is also the wife of the late Attorney General of the state and commissioner for Justice, Emmanuel Aguma be allowed to take a bow and exit the hallowed chamber since she had already been screened and confirmed by the house when she served as a member of the executive under the Celestine Omehia administration, expressing confidence on her ability to deliver on any assignment that would be given her.
