Hmm,you think you're smart shey,those guys will job you cleanly and nothing will happen. Boys wey dey sell fufu phones and laptops...abi make them even hug you for the same village.
Best way to avoid them is to never even respond to their advances. Even the guys in the stores are no exceptions.
Never blame a guy who fell at the church computer village,there are jobbers looking to capitalize on your gullibility over there.

Bro ther ways they do this things.....
from what i have experience so far, They will give u the Real money at first to count. after den dey will come up with something that will make them collect it back from you. eg(bring d money first make i go bring my brother.).
On coming bak, dey will just bring out d fake in ur present and put in a Nylon, and play on ur ignorance, since u have counted the money before, u wont want too again. Then they take off on Bike. Boom!! u start crying after they ar long gone

An apprentice was, yesterday, left in tears after he was scammed by a phone seller at Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to reports, the victim was trying to exchange his Tecno J7 and N10k for a Tecno Phantom 6 from a street urchin.

However, after the urchin collected the phone and money, his accomplice came out from no where to fight him against effecting the exchange.

The unsuspecting victim was then given back his phone and money, but he later found out his real money had been switched with papers wrapped with a N500 note.

Thats so sad...this happen always here at Computer village.next time give me a call cos i have a shop where i service laptop and phones.

I was once a victim of this scam.. precisely in Q1 2016 just before i left Nigeria. Same place with same trick. I lost 7k. The folk was selling Tekno Cannon 8. after accepting my offer, we needed to check if the charging port was ok. Thereafter i gave him the money, while he was recounting the money right in front of me and i was previewing the phone. Just immediately he said he can't sell at 8k that it is 10k and that was it. Immediately his colleague ran to him shouting "police!! police!!!... they both run off. I was there looking around to see the police but none. Then Checking my money it has been filled with papers nicely arranged and wrapped with 1k note.

I felt ashamed to even talk about it. I thought i was sharp and conscious. Moral of the Lesson " Any person Can be Scammed" it only takes the right Trick and Scammer..

The only ANTIDOTE is to talk about the Tricks, so as to awaken our consciousness !!!

Same thing happened to me 2 years back, thank God my fear made me do something I wouldn't do in a normal circumstance.

I left home with #18,000 naira to buy any good mid-range andriod phone I can get. On getting there, one of these street guys now showed me a Techno J8 phone that's worth around #45000 as at then. We agreed on #14,000 and I brought out money to pay him, while counting out his money, I started telling him tales of my own ruggedness too at least to show him I'm street also.

Long story short... I gave him money, collected and pocketed the phone immediately and was walking away when another idiot grabbed me from behind as was shouting "hey where you see that phone, you be thief!". Confused and terribly scared, I just gave him a heavy punch probably out of impulse thereby freeing myself, and immediately ran without looking back to the Police post. Funny enough they backed off immediately I got to the place. I quickly narrated what happened to them, the police guys there now told me that's how they behave, and they would have collected the phone from me without giving me back my money and probably even beat me in the process. They were even hailing me for outsmarting them, and even said I should go with the phone that it's my luck, but deep down I was still terrified and could not go home alone

They finally escorted me to the bus stop and that was how I duped the dupers...

He be stranger for computer village...funny enough if this people are eventually caught and taken to d police they will scam the man further there. That is Lagos for u

The guy that appeared from nowhere was the distractor.....it was a well planned scam.... If you have been scammed, you won't learn you know...... I pity the victim
