Avoid white carbs(rice,yam...) if you must consume Rice, it should be brown rice once a week. For your swallow, you should consider the likes of oatmeal swallow, unripe plantain swallow, fonio swallow... Guinea corn swallow, etc. Subsititute red meat with Fish(stay away from Cat fish though) chicken, Cow skin... Do not skip breakfast, 8 glasses of water a day, 40 minutes of brisk walking or jogging a day.... No food intake once it's 7PM...minimal oil, fruits and veggies are a must-have... Quote me if you need more dets.

Thanks for this.

Plain...

Little sugar

And cut down on your food portions
Cut down completely sugary drinks..
Coke fanta and all the likes
Increase fruits intake..

When you do all dis plus early morning jogging+sit ups for a start
You will see results in a month or two.

The beginning is difficult.. But you must be ready to motivate yourself to exercise everyday!

Thank you

God bless you

Sit ups is the one of the most effective ways to deal with abdominals! It works wonders

Within 3 to 4 months of constant push ups
I was not only able to cut down belly fat, I also got my 6ix packs forming
grin

When you start, its going to be painful.. Take a day rest, on the third day, attempt it again, it will be painful.. Just make sure you do like 10/reps only ..
Attempt the next day too
Small small.. Just know consistency is key. As long as you do something everyday.. Keep it up!! You will get used to it.. And when you start seeing results you will get addicted cos you won't like to look like your old self

Unfortunately, Nigerian foods are hardly ever "low carb". But here's what i know;

•Nuts are good. They are addictive so try to not overeat them.
•Beans are NOT low carb but they are healthy and have good amounts of protein and fiber.
•Fish, Beef, poultry are full of protein and zero carbs.
•Leafy greens contain negligible amounts of carbohydrate.
•Lentils have good amounts of protein and fiber. Almost like beans.

P.S;
•if you're trying to lose weight, stay away from bread.

Also, remember all carbohydrates are not equal. Eating 100g of potatoes =/= eating 100g of pasta.
Hope i helped a little.

It's not about carbohydrates but the quality of carbohydrate. You can't compare carbohydrate derived from bread, garri etc to that of yam, oats, plantain, beans, brown rice etc. Since you are conscious of carb intake, switch to ketogenic diet

Except you have a medical condition restricting what you eat, all our foods are OK.

Just measure what you eat and reduce the oil. Also eat balanced diet. For instance, I have learnt to add vegetables to rice (runner beans, green peas and carrot) so it is not all carbs.

Beans is high carbs so don't always eat with garri, bread or rice.

Don't fry your meat, let fried meat be a treat at parties. If you can't stand boiled, grill or boil without water.

Don't heap swallow on a plate with oily soup full of shake, pumo, cow leg, roundabout etc. in the name of enjoyment.

Don't over cook your vegetables. Add it like 2mins before you turn off the heat.

Run away from fizzy drinks.

Good luck.
Total Gibberish! Just hear yourself..

But he is right. What benefit are fizzy drinks to the human body anyway?
The healthiest people are those who eat as close to nature as possiible. Fizzy drinks are bad news whether or not you're trying to lose weight. Only the CEOs of CocaCola and co will say otherwise.

Don't come at me yelling "ignorance". You don't know who i am or what i do so keep your salty remarks to yourself. S/he made valid points.
But since you want to be a smarty, here you go.

• Even elementary school kids know weight loss is Calories In VS Calories Out. And as for "oil" in his/her comment, s/he obviously meant trans fat which is what is obtainable in the mainstream.
• You don't need extra water to boil meat except you plan on making broth.
• Refer to the first point.
• I already dealt with the fizzy drinks aspect.

Now who's ignorant? I was going to let this slide but you were rude.

Hi all,
Time as come when i become conscious of what i eat, when i eat and how i eat. Rice, plantain, yam were my regulars and in above average servings.

To the well informed people in the house, is Rice and yam low carb diet? What are the other low carb food that i can eat that would not make me miss my regulars. I would appreciate anyone willing to give a certified advice.

Thank you in anticipation.

While it sounds logical to seek out low carb foods, if you want to lose fat, it is not a sustainable route.

The best way to lose fat is by consuming less calories.

There's something called your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE), and if you consume less calories than this, you will lose weight - no matter what you eat.

Doesn't matter if it's rice or ice cream or coke or whatever.

This professor of nutrition, to prove a point, lost 12kg in 10 weeks on a diet of junk food: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1328160/Nutrition-professor-loses-2-stone-doughnuts-cakes-crisps-diet.html

What he did is called CICO (calorie in, calorie out).

Your best companion for this is an app called MyFitnessPal.

You'll also need a small food scale to weigh your food.

Finally, there are large communities all over the web dedicated to people whose goal is to lose weight.

A good source of inspiration on your journey is Progress Pics on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/progresspics/

Many of them use/used CICO.
