The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia state has refuted the allegation by some sections of media that the name of former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and other party members are not in the party register.

Recall that some media platforms reported that APC has removed Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu’s name from the party register, the reports attributed the removal of Kalu’s name to the pending case the former governor have with EFCC.

But speaking with newsmen, the state party publicity secretary, Comrade Godson Benedict insisted that it was “a misinformation as such a statement did not emanate from the party.”

The party is best placed to tell whose names are in the party and whose names are not.”

On the forthcoming primaries, Benedict said “the state party caucus and leadership is meeting to take a decision and would brief the press on the outcome.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Kenneth Udeh, media to Dr. Kalu has described the reports as false news being sponsored by mischievous fellows.

In a statement sent to us, Udeh noted that APC screened Dr. Kalu and found him worthy of contesting for senate for Abia North zone come 2019.

He said; “To set the records straight, the news is totally false and lies from the abyss of hell. The news is the usual handiwork of unfortunate political brigands who thrive on peddling falsehoods and blackmail.

“We are not surprised by the fake news been dispelled because we are aware that the swelling popularity and wide acceptance of the APC as a result of the efforts of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has been constant nightmare to the enemies of democracy and good governance.

“They only end up making him more popular with fake news and cheap blackmail.
Dr. Orji Kalu is not just a contestant but a committed stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress in the Southeast and the Nation at large.

“For reminders we can all recall the Peace Tours which Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu embarked on to major geopolitical zones of the country in which he showcased the good works of President Buhari and also galvanized more support for the Party and the re-election of Mr. President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.

“I can confirm that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has been duly screened and found exceedingly qualified to contest. He is in high spirits to rescue the good people of Abia North from years of suffering and Abysmal leadership .

“The Nigerian public and especially the good people of Abia State are hereby advised disregard the news as their is no iota of truth in it.

Abia State chapter of APC seems to be naive of the fact that Orji Kalu is not in the helm of APC affairs. Orji Uzor ran to APC for cover and I think that's all he gets as long as he keep being humble
