if the consent of a president is needed or it is within the powers of a president to sack judges then the judiciary is not independent and Nigeria is at the mercy of God.

It is the same world over. Presidents recommend and appoint judges. Naija's own is even better. Promotions come by rank in the judiciary, but the president will still recommend and appoint.

every country should adopt a model that works for them and not do because others are doing, giving the current situation of Nigeria it is completely disastrous.

NJC recommends to the president or governor for appointment or dismissal. Its as provided for by our CFRN as amended. In some cases appoints are subject to ratification or confirmation of the Senate or state house of assembly.

Barr Efunwape was referred to Disciplinary Committee for further punishment based on the offence of false allegation against a Judge but Hon Dibiagwu was merely given a mere warning for same offence of false allegation against a judge! Different Standard for different people!

Another thing I noticed is that Justice Abang, the notorious APC Judge was exonerated of the well known and conspicuous offences he has been committing!!

Efunwape is a lawyer, not a judge, so the NJC cannot discipline him either by warning or any sanction. So, his case was referred to his profession’s disciplinary committee for further action.

In the case of Dibiagwu, he is a judge and therefore, the NJC was able to discipline him by warning him. In an official environment, Warning is not mere as you put it anyway.

Time to say bye to justice from the Supreme Court. Buhari and his co-travellers are bent on infiltrating the judiciary such that their election mandate stealing plans are not recovered from the courts.

Nigeria will never recover from Buhari’s administration.

Unfortunately, those who need the restructuring mostly are not in the majority.
