It was first conceived more than 40 years ago. It is a Bridges + Road connecting the Island of Bonny to the mainland (Bodo).

It’s jointly funded by
@AsoRock
and
@nigeriaLNG

There has been to bridge or road linking Bonny to the mainland and all trips to and fro are either by chopper or dangerous long trips on speed boats.

The Bodo-Bonny Road and Bridge, a 38km long road through swampy area with 2 Bridges and cross culverts in spite of Community disturbances, work is progressing.

Once this is finished, the people of Bonny would be able to drive to the mainland of Rivers state and back.

Construction is being handled by Julius Berger

This is a project being done using the newly accessed PIDF fund alongside NLNGs input as stated in the OP.

They don't even realise that NLNG means NIGERIA liquified natural gas.

Maybe its Togo that owns NLNG. They don't even know NLNG is a joint venture involving Nigeria which is a major share holder.
