Almost on a daily basis we are reminded by APC supporters of how the PDP and its leaders squandered the proceeds of excess crude sales as proposed by the then minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. However extracts from her book actually highlighted the governors who were vehemently against this savings and they are all APC members. Named as the chief antagonists to the savings were Govs Adams Oshiomole (the current APC national chairman), Babatunde Raji Fashola (the failed current APC minister of power, works and housing), Gov Rotimi Amaechi (the minister of transport and campaign DG of President Buhari) and Gov Godswill Akpabio (APC senator). Extracts from the book also showed that a particular governor stood firmly for the savings and that man was none other than Gov Peter Obi who incidentally is the PDP vice presidential candidate today. Please, if anyone tells you that PDP refused to save, let them know that APC was actually the party that squandered our savings.
