OUR ENVIRONMENT IS ALL WE HAVE GOT, LETS PROTECT IT JEALOUSLY….COUNCIL BOSS TASKS RESIDENTS

..AS MASSIVE DE-SILTING OF DRAINAGES & EVACUATION OF WASTES CONTINUES IN AMUWO ODOFIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The Council Mayor, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh has again called on residents and visitors alike to protect the environment jealously.

He said, “Our approach to our natural environment is often baffling . The beauty of our landscapes is significant but few are aware of the solid economic benefits they bring- and what we don’t value we don’t protect.

“If we continue to degrade our environment, there will be heavy price to pay. And our children and theirs will be the one to pay for it. We need to become the generation that draws a line in the sand of the steady degradation of our environment and say “no more”.

The Council helmsman further stated that the local government has started massive evacuation of wastes at black spots as well as de-silting of drainages across the local government area including but not limited to Mile 2 estate, Basketball Court, Alaba Express Extension, 21 road, 2nd Avenue, Festac Town amongst others.

He once again appealed to residents to take the issue of the environment seriously and anybody caught degrading the environment would face the full wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, a youth group, the God's Work Team today paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman where the initiator, Capt. Adebayo Dosunmu, the Supervisor for Education and the leader of the group, Ayodele Daniel pledged to support the government’s drive on a cleaner environment.

The group plan to have an environment service tagged ' Cleanliness is next to Godliness' on the 17th of November, 2018.

The group stated that they would be bagging waste scattered all over the local government area especially Mile 2 Axis to be easy for the PSP operators to cart them away.

The chairman appreciated their gestures, noting that we all need to live in a cleaner and habitable environment.

Very good job.

Do not ask what your country can do for you, ask for what you can do for your country.
