Lagbook; an online social network incepted on 17th of April 2010 for students of the University of Lagos has today 26th of July 2010 expanded to include everyone living, studying or working in Nigeria to connect with their family, friends and loved ones where ever they may be.

This expansion came with a simultaneous renovation of the network. Lagbook, which was previously built on the Ning platform is now built on a new platform; GROU.PS. Although the creators of this network managed to secure the data of their members on Ning, they failed to secure the data of the member's friends, messages and latest activity.

The creators of this network has subsequently created a means in which users of the older version of Lagbook created on Ning can retrieve their new password on the new Lagbook.

The chat system of the new Lagbook is more user friendly when compared to the chat system of Lagbook on Ning. And members can now write on other member's walls, comment on other member's taughts and decide whether to like it or not.

The new Lagbook is generally better than the other Lagbook and the creators are currently developing a video-sharing network for Nigerians. It will be called Lagbook.TV
