If we remember from history, the Asaba end of the Bridge was scene of heavy fighting between Biafran troops and the Nigerian Army during the war. Three times the Nigerian Army tried to cross from that point into Onitsha and three times they were beaten back by Biafrans. Biafra troops eventually blew up the Onitsha end of the Bridge. So it's no surprise if some unexploded bombs fell into the sea on the Asaba end

Imagine if those Igbo bros that made ogbunigwe were called after war, fund them and empower them to make stronger explosives. By now, Nigeria would have been in negotiations with US and UN on nuclear proliferation.

you should ask the US why they keep developing weapons. Military power is a very important form of power for a nation.

That's an unexploded 60mm mortar bomb. The type that is hand carried and dropped into a metal tube or pipe which then fires it to its target.

Its a relic of the Nigerian biafran civil war. Must be leftovers of the Nigerian Army because they occupied that end of the river.

What I meant was that unexploded bombs could have fallen into the Asaba end of the Bridge during the heavy fighting there. The blowing up of the Bridge came after when Biafrans are pushed across the Bridge, even after this, fighting from both ends still happend

That's a world war 1 era bomb probably sold to Biafra. This isn't anything made in Biafra or Nigeria.
