The Peoples Democratic Party said it regretted that its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar did not attend the signing of the Peace Accord in Abuja on Tuesday, blaming the incident on ‘communication lapse’.

Naija Politico learnt that the Publicity secretary Kola Ologbondiyan said on Tuesday night that the party will probe the communication gap between it and the National Peace Committee, chaired by General Abdusalami Abubakar, a former Nigerian leader.

President Muhammadu Buhari and 75 other presidential candidates attended the peace meeting at the International Conference Centre in Abuja today. And all signed the Peace Accord, but the PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar were conspicuously absent.

Ologbondiyan said despite the absence of both the party and its candidate, it is committed to a peaceful election

“Already, the party is conducting investigations into the circumstances that could have resulted to this unfortunate communication lapse.

“Nevertheless, it is instructive to state that our Presidential candidate, Atiku and the party PDP are fully committed to a peaceful electoral process and elections in 2019.

“Our Presidential candidate Atiku is known worldwide as a global ambassador of peace, who will always support processes that will engender peace in our country and the world over”, Ologbondiyan said.

Take PDP serious at your own peril

Before, they weren't invited

Now ,they are regretting the communication gap between their officers.

And Btw, FBI wasn't invited, only US consulates... grin

Yet Atikulooters claimed it was deliberate to protest the non-signing of the late electoral law amendment.

Like father like children. Liars everywhere undecided

The FUGITIVE is just depressed because from his scanty rallies, American red card & maintenance of the existing electoral laws...Atiku is starting to see the writing on the wall.

Sai Baba till 2023! cool

PDP particularly has never been known for anything peaceful so it is no surprise they steered cheat such an event even though it was put together by their very own stooge Mathew Kukah and is largely only symbolic.

We know for sure whether or not they sign it, they'd still act true to type as a violent, aggressive, terrorist sympathetic, secessionist, arsonist and murderous den of satanic agents.

Would you have said the same if it was Buhari that boycotted the peace agreement and then lied to Nigerians he was not invited?

Unpatriotic elements already excusing PDP's failures before they smell power.

Thank God Atiku's supporters can now see the lying fugitive they wanted to rule us.

I hope zombies can now rest

Hypocrisy is when you support buhari not to sign an electoral bill which will ensure free and fair elections that has been presented for over a year now but condemn PDP for not signing a peace deal for same election.

Atiku and PDP shouldn't have any reason to regret not going for the shitty peace pact rubbish.

Will the pact guarantee a credible and violence free election? Nonsense
