Officers of the Rapid Response Squad on patrol along Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos - prevented a man from jumping into the lagoon in a suicide attempt earlier today.

The rescued man has been handed over to Adekunle Police Station for investigation.

This is coming months after a journalist who works with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) committed suicide. He jumped into the Lagoon from the Third mainland bridge in Lagos.

The journalist pretended that he wanted to urinate after he alighted from a commercial bus conveying him and some of his colleagues to work before he dived into the lagoon.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos state police command rushed to the scene immediately but could not rescue the reporter.

The guy want to jump into the lagoon, but he wait until he saw a police patrol vehicle before he shout a pretends to take a step ahead. Who's he deceiving for God sake? May be he's deceiving himself or the police. As for me I can only agree with him if he actually jumped inside and the police brought him out dead or alive

He didn't want to jump. Are police guarding the bridge or did someone alerted them about the jumping man. How many seconds does it take to jump?

I often ask why people who have hands and legs give up on life. If you can trek to the lagoon to die, then all is well at least with your health which is the most important thing.

Attempted suicide attracts a jail term

Any government that can't provide constant electricity is a complete failure.

Thank God I have bought a rechargeable fan that I will only use in the night especially from 11pm to around 5 am.

I could not buy a generator because my house doesn't really have a safe place for a gen.
