CJN’s Trial: court restates order stopping CCT, AGF, others by dre11(m): 12:13pm On Jan 17, 2019
by Eric Ikhilae, Abuja

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday restated its order restraining the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) and some others from proceeding with the planned arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Justice Evelyn Maha restated the order on Thursday at the resumed hearing of the suits brought by the incorporated trustees of two groups – the Centre for Justice and Peace Initiative, and the International Association of Students Economists and Management.

The suits are challenging the propriety of the charge brought against the CJN before the CCT by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Upon being told that some of the respondents have not been properly served, the judge ordered fresh service of court papers in relation to the suits on the defendants and directed that hearing notices also be served on them.

Justice Maha, before adjourning to January 28 this year restated the order she made on January 14, 2019 directing parties to maintain status quo, still stands.

‎Details later.

E be like say dem nor dey hear word. That's how our legal system works. Status quo is maintained until judgement is passed.

When the judgement is passed and you are not satisfied then you are welcome to appeal. Any other thing is contempt of court.

We all know the case has no merit! It's just part of Bubu's rigging plan but it has already failed

Buhari is the new Father Christmas in town!
First, he gave Guinea Bissau $500,000 last week, and he has now approved a grant of 1 billion dollar for Sudan to enable them fight famine.
This is a country that can't pay 30k naira minimum wage. A country that has been designated as the poverty capital of the world fighting poverty in another land.
A country that has been borrowing and even trying to sell of its assets to finance a budget is giving to another country.
A country that doesn't suffer famine, but its citizens are very hungry.
This grant to a great extent revalidates the Jubrin saga!
BUHARILOOTER must be voted out at all cost!

Due process is bae. The CCT ought to go through the whole hog. The speed of prosecution smacks of desperation and hidden motives. Proper procedure ought to be followed. If in the end the CJN is guilty, the full course of the law will be allowed as well., But if we are prosecuting with the mindset of forcing a change before elections, justice will miscarry and the end result might be anarchy.

well the CJN will not appear before any kangaroo tribunal and the FHC is not of the same jurisdiction as the CCT.

comment I see from this blind supporters of Buhari who still want this man to rule of over 200 million Nigerians which he has failed in the last four years bit my imagination. To them its all about PAC OR PDP..it is a helpless situation. No sence of patrotism anymore but loyalist to parties only.do I play them..Nigeria is almost gone.
Sometimes I wonder if these blind supporters are actually children/teenagers who have access to phones or they are foreign nationals who are just trying to play prank on us in other to hit up the thread...but I later realized, that is how some Nigerians reason.
