Request for the vin number ...that you can do by checking the manufacturer's seal near the door. With this you can track the status of that car including where is coming from. Collect the C number on the custom paper and visit custom formation at Ikeja to verify if duties was fully paid and confirm if that c number is actually for the vin number. If all this is correct . The next step payment . Ensure you are buying from a trusted dealer or person . Go with your lawyer to prepare receipt for both of you to sign. Also collect receipt from the seller. After payment Collect the original custom papers , receipt etc. This are the document you will use to register it with plate number

Hello Sir

There are 3 critical steps when buying a Tokunbo vehicle, so as to ensure you end up with a car with no problems;

* Get a VIN Report for the vehicle, for details about the history of the car, as to avoid cars with dangerous damage history.

* Get the vehicle inspected by a qualified inspector, to verify the present condition of the car. Often this is only necessary if the VIN report is positive.

* Verify the documents including the customs duty payment documents. For a Tokunbo vehicle, the main documents required from the dealer are the valid original customs documents as well as receipt of payment documents.
