Ade Adesomoju, Abuja

The police have early Monday sealed off the office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari, last Friday, sources at the Supreme Court have informed The PUNCH.

In a move that appeared to stop any possibility of Onnoghen to accessing the office, policemen were said to have sealed the office and ejected all administrative staff in the axis of the CJN office asearly as 7am on Monday.

One of the sources said, “The police have sealed the office of the CJN. Officers and men of the Force went to the administrative staff offices at about 7am and ordered clerical and other staff who were already at their desks to leave after which they locked up everywhere.”

This came as the National Judicial Council has fixed Tuesday for an emergency meeting to deliberate on the sudden suspension of Onnoghen and swearing in of Justice Tanko Muhammad as the Acting CJN by President Buhari.

Details soon.

The actions of the President is not just Un-constitutional, it shows the level of disdain with which Northerners like Buhari looks at people from the South. Imagine GEJ destroyed our economy the way Buhari has done, makes all appointment from his region, and suspended a Northerner Unconstitutionally for mere allegation of asset declaration and appointed a person from South-East, everywhere will be on fire by now. All well meaning Nigerians especially those from the South should start taking everything seriously especially politics, so we can wittle down the Influence of Northerners in our politics. We must ensure equity and fairness for all regions in the country.

Buhari refused to sign the electoral bill into law because, according him, it was too close to election and the reverse is the case now.
What do I know, what goes around comes around, the world will not end in 4 years time.

You are not getting it, for admitting to it, there was no need for the cct action, all was needed is for the asset to be updated and if any sanction to be meted at him should be according to our constitution.

Can court issue order to senate president to sack Mr. President? NO.
Due process has to be followed.

With this act by Mr president, Nigeria may become a banana republic.

It's simply because the suspended CJN is not expected to come to the office.

If he wants to plan against the government, he should do that from his house grin

Why didn't Buhari deal with this issue long ago when there would be time to follow due process and not appear to be desperate?? Yes he's wonderfully corrupt but CCT judge Danladi still has a 1.8 million naira case pending cheesy

Mr Integrity should also look into that

My Yoruba brothers I hail ooo...Buhari that neglected Tinubu for a long period will honourably anoint him while El Rufai and other Northerners will form dumb abi grin

This is for a serious buyer.

I have a MX9 Pro 4k Ultra HD i will like to sell. This is an Android TV Box that runs an android OS which enables user to watch internet TV on their tv screen.

It makes your tv smart. And also eliminates heavy subscription bill from paytv. The other benefit of using this box is that with internet service, using it is completely free.

It comes pre-installed with over 5000 stations ranging from Sport to Movie and so many more.

Only Consume 200MB for Full Match (90mins) and No Buffering...
I have used this seemlessly on 3G Airtel in my formal location.

It has a wireless keyboard, mini usb cord, remote control and so much pre-installed programmes.

Watch all FA CUP, CARLING CUP free on this Ultra 4k HD
Price..... 25K

Reason for selling: I moved to a new area where internet connection is very poor. It is a new home in a inner part of the town.

Where are the Ipob terrorist when u need them?

With the way the wailers are blabbing on Friday after the suspension, I expect multiple bomb blast in Aso rock by now, but then it is all mouth, they are back to reality now.

Someone is saying up there that Buhari destroy the economics, with the degree of looting that happen under GEJ u dont expect everything to still be the Same. Let me sound this to the ear of the wailers, oil sale during Jonathan regime was as high $110/barrel yet in the same year the clueless one borrow to pay salary, I dont think the oil sale has even reach $80/barrel now since then, it fluctuate between $40 and $65 now. Buhari is doing more with less.

God keep Buhari for us.

My vote is for Buhari.

PS: The way people are defending this corruption means Nigerian are not ready for change, we are OK in our shackles of corruption. Shame! Shame!

Good news. Onnoghen must never be allowed back. God bless PMB for tackling corruption headlong. All those supporting Onnoghen have not tasted the effect of having a corrupt judge sit over your case. It is worse than having a madman chasing you with knife.

shut it. the court order is illegal as the CCT had no case for trying the CJN.

Follow this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4987407/cct-section-3-act-exonerates

Besides no place in the illegal court order was buhari ordered to suspend the CJN.

Good One. No room for corrupt people. If the preceding administrations had done even 5% what PMB has done, the number of corrupt public officers would have reduced drastically by now.

Thumbs up to the govt of PMB for the extraordinary courage to change the way we have been doing things.

Nigeria is on the path to greatness again.
