*Ahmed posters resurface i

Despite denials by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed that he is no longer in the Senatorial race of February 16, 2019 in Kwara South Senatorial District his posters resurfaced in his country home of Share yesterday.

Ahmed was nominated in October 2018 as the Senatorial candidate of Kwara South Senatorial District to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, the party leader, Senator Bukola Saraki apparently angered by the woeful performance of his party in the bye election of November 17 in Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun Federal Constituency moved for the replacement of Ahmed with the sitting Senator, Rafiu Ibrahim.

Our investigations revealed that, Ahmed's kinsmen were not happy with the development. High powered delegation from Igbomina -Ahmed's ethnic stock prevailed on him to play along and come up with his own strategy.

Recent developments showed that, Gov. Ahmed failed to transmit on record time his letter of withdrawal to INEC. INEC by its regulations expected all nominations and/or substitutions to have been concluded by November 17 but INEC didn't receive Ahmed's letter of withdrawal until December 3rd.

The new twist to the game is the coordinated strategy of the Igbomina cum Share people to ensure victory of their own, particularly when PDP is taking everything to Ibolo bloc.

The Ibolo bloc has been having Senate and House of Representatives since 2015, which implies 12 years in the House of Representatives and 8 years in the Senate, if the current plan of Senator Saraki sails through.

The Kwara South Senatorial contest has been very interesting with the PDP train making denials here and there. While INEC insists on the candidature of Ahmed we are not sure of what becomes the lot of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim who has burnt more calories in the recent time.
