Discovery of oil in North does not mean Nigeria would split. Because if Nigeria splits, Southern Nigeria or biafra would be taking money from the North in transit fees. Whereas under one Nigeria, no such thing as transit fees. On the other hand, this is bad news. More oil means lower prices due to glut.Plus it only makes us Nigerians lazier. Nigeria is not a developed nation because we think oil money will pay for everything. That is half baked economics. Time we got.off oil. Saudi Arabia may look rich from oil, but they are vulnerable. theoldpretender: There are various industries. There are various sources of power. There is nothing wrong in exploring for oil. The Gongola basin is a sedimentary basin with some proven presence of hydrocarbons. Why this project would irritate anyone speaks volume the nature of people that populate Nigeria. |
