Who did Buhari contest against in 2011? Jonathan was contesting at a time when Northerners were supposed to be doing their 2nd term. So why wouldn't they threaten Sultan for supporting who they claim to be an infidel over their son?

Secondly, as at 2011 up till 2015, Buhari was assumed to be the man with the magic wand that would automatically transform Nigeria within 1 year of his administration.

Many northerners love Buhari quite alright, but they equally know that he hasn't achieved anything in his administration. In 2011 and 2015, many northerners were willing to die just for Buhari to get into power. Having experienced one tenure of his so far, they can comfortably do away with him as long as another northerner will take over from him.
