Kano Stadium Shut Down: The Fear of PDP in Kano is the Beginning of Wisdom

There is news that the Sani Abacha Stadium has been shut down for renovation. This is exactly 5 days to the massively and highly acclaimed Kano Mega Rally of the PDP, duly headlined by the all popular Kwankwassiya movement in the business hub of Kano State.

The fear of the PDP, especially the former Governor of Kano State and the former Vice President of Nigeria, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Atiku Abubakar respectively, has forced the APC into undue panic mode and unfortunately, shutting down the stadium is their best action. Too bad that it is already late. Hurricane Atiku and Hurricane Abba, are real in Kano.

The Kwankwaso Tornado will blow and destroy every dollar collecting and recession aiding spirit in Kano State, and nothing will stop it. With Kwankwaso drumming massive support for Atiku, Kano is set to fall to the PDP. This act of desperation is the last, in the APC’s bag of trickery. What next now?

Ganduje orders immediate shutdown of all Kano stadiums ahead of Atiku’s visit

The Kano State government on Monday ordered the immediate closure of the two major stadia in the state, barely six days to the proposed presidential campaign rally of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is expected to hold his rally at either Sani Abacha National Stadium or Kano Pillars stadium, Sabon Gari.

However, this newspaper gathered that the state government ordered the Kano State Sports Commission to immediately close the facility for renovation.

But, a source close to the state government told DAILY NIGERIAN that the shutdown was intended to frustrate the forthcoming campaign rally of the PDP candidate in the state.

According to the source who begged for his identity not to be revealed, the governor had received a confidential report that a lot of PDP supporters are being mobilised in their numbers from across the state.

He said: “There is every possibility that Atiku will pool more crowd than President Muhammadu Buhari did in the state during his campaign last week.

“People are already angry and tired of Ganduje.

“Also, the governor doesn’t want to send a bad signal to Abuja because the crowd will be massive.”

When contacted for comment, the spokesman of the sports commission, Abbati Sabo, said the directive was not intended to scuttle the campaign rally of the PDP presidential candidate.

He added that the renovation work was directed to have conducted ahead of the 2019-2020 Nigeria Premier League, NPL, season.

The spokesman explained that the government was advised to order for the renovation as the season had already commenced.

“As far as I am concerned, this directive doesn’t have a political undertone. The state government was advised to order for the renovation of the stadium ahead of the NPL season.

“The government had now heeded to the advice and ordered for the project in order to have smooth conduct of the league. As you can see, the facility is in need of repair and the government has now answered the call for its renovation,” he said.

It was also gathered that the proposed renovation work was billed to commence on February 4 and end on February 18.

The proposed general renovation works include the installation of the new score board, the running track and provision of sources for steady water supply to all parts of the stadium facility.

Red Cap movement is real as ably led by Dr Rabiu Musa kwankwaso the patriarch of the kwankwasiyya.

10th February is day to make the clearest statement that Kano is now a 50:50 state. While February 16th insha Allah kano will then fall to pdp thereby, ending any hope of a buhari's reelection.

I saw it coming, they saw the mistake El Rufia did in Kaduna by releasing AB stadium to PDP after watching the massive PDP supporters that graced Atiku's rally, Ganduje doesn't what to repeat the same mistake grin

Gengengen !!!!

Why do I have the feeling that history is about to repeat itself in 2019. because the same scenario that played out in 2015 is repeating itself.

Can anyone remember the way PDP treated APC prior to 2015 elections ?

The red cap movement was just gaining momentum at that time. Quite different from whats happening today.

Admit it: APC is scared to death regarding kano votes.
If Kano is divided, like lagos is sure to be, its Bye Baba.

people are praising Buhari for bypassing judicial processes and suspending Onnoghen but the same Buhari has not made open his own asset declaration as he promised in 2014. It's more shocking that CCB refused to give Punch the asset declaration forms of Abba Kyari, Amechi, Lai, Fashola etc. Those who praised him over Onnoghen cannot see Buhari's double-standards and mischief.Buhari promised to make one naira equal to one dollar. Maybe Buhari wanted to say he would make one dollar equal to 1000 naira.could remember buying a litre of Kerosene 50 naira under Jonathan's government. Buhari promised to return the fuel pump price from 87naira to 45 naira. We have seen the bitter side of Buhari who came to power with promises and no plans.

You are correct jhoo...
Ganduje should release Sani Abacha stadium, put buhari's posters there, that's all........nobody will come....
In 2011,Kwankwaso even lost again after outgoing Gov Shekarau put buhari's posters again....
In fact Kcl,after that,Ganduje should simply put buhari's posters and release the stadium and be relaxed...nothing deg happen...
Mtchewwww

I mentioned Kwankwaso and not buhari.....Buhari lost elections severally even in the North, even against a fellow Katsina,he lost his own Ward.....so please,
Whether Kwankwaso is apc or pdp....As a politician in Africa,he has the clouts necessary... How he does that,I don't know....I like it and all politicians envy that.....QED
