President Goodluck Jonathan's 100 Days Report Card by Nobody: 8:52pm On Aug 20, 2010
This mid-term Citizens Report has been prepared with the input of Nigerians at home and abroad. As a performance evaluation, it is unscientific, but it reflects popular assessment of the presidency and of Goodluck Jonathan. We invite the presidency to pay attention to this evaluation. A copy of the report may be downloaded and used as a poster on cars, buses and okada, as well as in offices, schools, hospitals, restaurants, churches, mosques, bars, community centers and others public places.

Naira is stronger when it remains at Naira 150 to $1 ?

You mean it is stronger in much the same way that Power has improved even when there has been next to no increase in amount of power generated since last year? undecided cry cry

Obviously those who prepared this at Sahara Reporters are too much into meeting their "sensational" news needs to be objective. What they ended up is a set of petty statements that cannot be taken seriously - not that everything they said is inaccurate.

Most importantly many of the recommendations they made to the student, are just as bad as what needs to be improved or cannot be done even in the next 4 years.

Still, it is useful and should be a regular feature of governance in Nigeria for the people to issue a report card to the government at all levels.

Nigeria is back to full international reckoning after the Mutallab incident.
Foreign policy:  100%

Bidding for contracts for the immediate construction of the new 700 KV electricity super grid has already begun. Also, there is more power being generated than the current grid can carry, there has been a noticable drop in the amounts spent on fuel for generators by end users. Power to homes and factories is expected to recieve a major boost as early as April next year, when supplied power will more than double.
Power supply: 100%

The Niger Delta has been relatively peaceful and the "amnesty programme" is in full swing.
Niger Delta: 100%

There has been impressive speed and gusto in the restructuring on the NNPC and petroleum sector to serve Nigeria, instead of serving foreigners and foreign oil companies. The petroleum sector accounts for a whopping 90% of Nigeria's earnings; anybody controlling petroleum, controls the country, as was when Shell ordered the Nigerian govt to execute Saro Wiwa (Shell has since paid compensation for the act http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jun/08/nigeria-usa).
Nigeria is effectively gaining independence in 2010.
Economy and depth of vision: 100%

Most people contributing here, show a total ignorance of their own country.

Addendum

How was Shell involved?
Shell continued its close relationship with the Nigerian military regime during the early 1990s. The oil company requested an increase in security and provided monetary and logistical support to the Nigerian police. Shell frequently called upon the Nigerian police for “security operations” that often amounted to raids and terror campaigns against the Ogoni.

In response to growing Ogoni opposition, Shell and the Nigerian government coordinated a public relations campaign to discredit the movement, falsely attributing airplane hijackings, kidnapping and other acts of violence to Ken Saro-Wiwa and MOSOP.

Shell was involved in the development of the strategy that resulted in the unlawful execution of the Ogoni Nine. Shell told the Nigerian regime they needed to deal with Ken Saro-Wiwa and MOSOP. Shell monitored Ken Saro-Wiwa, and closely followed the tribunal and his detention. Prior to the trial, Shell Nigeria told its parent companies that Saro-Wiwa would be convicted and told witnesses that Saro-Wiwa was never going free. Shell held meetings with the Nigerian regime to discuss the tribunal, including with the military president Sani Abacha himself. Shell’s lawyer attended the trial, which, in Nigeria, is a privilege afforded only to interested parties. Brian Anderson, the Managing Director of Shell’s Nigerian subsidiary, met with Owens Wiwa, Saro-Wiwa’s brother and offered to trade Saro-Wiwa’s freedom for an end to the protests against the company. At least two witnesses who testified that Saro-Wiwa was involved in the murders of the Ogoni elders later recanted, stating that they had been bribed with money and offers of jobs with Shell to give false testimony – in the presence of Shell’s lawyer.

One month after the executions of the Ogoni Nine, Shell signed an agreement to invest $4 billion in a liquefied natural gas project in Nigeria

Beginning in 1996, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), EarthRights International (ERI), Paul Hoffman of Schonbrun, DeSimone, Seplow, Harris & Hoffman and other human rights attorneys have brought a series of cases to hold Shell accountable for alleged human rights violations in Nigeria, including summary execution, crimes against humanity, torture, inhumane treatment and arbitrary arrest and detention. The lawsuits are brought against Royal Dutch Shell and Brian Anderson, the head of its Nigerian operation.[7]

The cases were brought under the Alien Tort Statute, a 1789 statute giving non-U.S. citizens the right to file suits in U.S. courts for international human rights violations, and the Torture Victim Protection Act, which allows individuals to seek damages in the U.S. for torture or extrajudicial killing, regardless of where the violations take place.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York set a trial date of June 2009. On June 9, 2009 Shell agreed to an out-of-court settlement of $15.5 million USD to victims' families. However, the company denied any liability for the deaths, stating that the payment was part of a reconciliation process.[8] In a statement given after the settlement, Shell suggested that the money was being provided to the relatives of Saro-Wiwa and the eight other victims, in order to cover the legal costs of the case and also in recognition of the events that took place in the region.[9] Some of the funding is also expected to be used to set up a development trust for the Ogoni people, who inhabit the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.[10] The settlement was made just days before the trial, which had been brought by Ken Saro-Wiwa's son, was due to begin in New York.[9]

Sahara Reporters has fallen to an all time low. They've lost every credibility!
I noticed since El Rufai and Ribadu returned to Nigeria, they haven't had access to any qualitative insider newsreports.
To make up for the shortfall, they've resorted to the cheapest form of journalism which is similar to what is used by celebrity tabloids.
