Following the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections to next week Saturday, the Federal Government has re-opened the land borders which were earlier shut.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, gave the directive.

It said, “Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), has ordered the re-opening of all the land borders earlier closed due to the postponement of the elections earlier scheduled for February 16, 2019.

“Nigeria Immigration Officers will continue their normal border control and patrol duties to ensure that all persons crossing our land, air and sea borders travel with a valid and genuine document and also pass through recognised routes.”

The service had earlier deployed its rapid response squad and other personnel numbering over 10,000 to the land borders and the hinterland as part of measures to prevent infiltration of the country by foreigners.

Whatever the reason,
I suggest with permission of the Benin Republic, USA warplanes should station there facing the zoo. 1 week to go?
Plenty of time.

Please my people, help a starving brother. I have been pleading for help since 2 days now. I'm a student who returned to school last week because of the prospects of exams starting on Monday and also because I was opportuned to enter a free ride. my family isn't bouyant enough and my dad has severe high BP that's why I had to find my way so as not to make him to start thinking about where to get money to give me. I haven't eaten a decent food since I got back and am starving.

I am soliciting for help from well meaning people who will be touched enough to hear my plight and have mercy. I am not asking for much, no matter how little, it will go a long way. God bless you all

Really a bad thing to postpone on election day! When a lot of people have risked their lives to travel.

They know postponing will lead to low turn out next week and will favour one candidate.

The US and other forces are watching closely. They are intelligent than our leaders and army. They know all your steps. The best thing to do for APC is to buy vote. Aside that, #NoRoomForRigging

Lol. It is now clear to many that Buhari cannot win fair and square. Historically, Election jitters are caused when the incumbent knows he will loose. Are Nigerians mad to vote a man that has grossly underperformed? Rubbish
