You obviously don’t know anything, go and complete your research on google,Those you mentioned are regulated by the government and operate by territory unlike Uber that isn’t organized

The internet changed a lot of things. It is an innovation disruptor and it is here to stay

Countries will eventually find a way of mixing the internet with the taxi business

Even Uber will have to keep tweeking (I've forgotten how to spell it grin) its business model as it is still making huge losses

Uber made a loss of $891m in the 2nd quarter of 2018 which shows it is not the most profitable of businesses and I don't see it entering into the black anytime soon

Imagine if Nitel had fought
the GSM companies.

You cannot fight an idea whose
time has come.

Most of these taxi drivers are
informants of criminal groups.

Abeg, make dem park well.

This fight is everywhere. Especially in Africa. The cab drivers charge too much while it is cheaper to ride in uber. This has caused jealousy and has eventually boiled over. I remember a similar fight in joburg late last year.

Not to mention the peace and quiet you got for that N1,500 wink
eyeview:
These cab drivers are the "ruddest" bunch with their expensive services.
I recently went for a function and I used taxify. At the end, my fare was N1,500. By the time I was coming back, my phone had run down and I couldn't hail any, hence I had to go to the cab drivers. They wouldn't carry me for N2,500! Same distance I took at N1500

The cab drivers are getting out of business everyday so they don't won't to see uber or taxify drivers anywhere around them

that is the problem with most people, they're satisfied with mediocrity, instead of the cab drivers to find a way of upgrading, they are busy figthing. their common sense should have told them that 99% of those who can afford a flight ticket can afford and will prefer to take Uber from the airport.

It has nothing to do with illiteracy,Uber has its own disadvantages. It kills taxi business and that is why they are against it in uk,China,Italy,Australia and several other countries,Taxi drivers are paying taxes and regulated,i mean each taxi has its own territory unlike Uber where anyone can just decide to be a rider and enter any territory
Re: Cab Drivers Fight Uber Drivers At Lagos Airport by Realdeals(m): 10:28am On Feb 22, 2019
These taxi drivers should blend and embrace reality, I took an Uber ride with AC from Ikeja to Oshodi and paid just N500. Had it been the yellow taxi, I'll have to beg before they could consider N1500.

"it kills taxi business" please what is Uber? This whole comment smacks of ignorance. Uber drivers pay 25% tax and if u do proper research you will know that these countries you mentioned are more interested in regulation for Uber in terms of policy, they don't attack Uber drivers who are common citizens like everyone else and are not even employees of Uber

Competition promote better services. Let the cab drivers reduce their fair and we will petronize them.

Approach a cab driver at the airport, tell him you are heading to Festac, he will tell you #5,000 and depending on you bargaining power you will be lucky to get #3,500.

Call for an uber or texify driver, you will be given an option to choose the cab you need and the fair which will definitely be cheaper than the cab driver.

Uber should be highly embraced compared with the crap you get from the old carb drivers... The old carb drivers will over charged you and frustrated life out of you.
Competition should be welcomed, because It will bring better and quality service.

That's without AC ooo... and the yellow Taxi don't even have AC. Let there be competition... competition will generate quality service...

that's not an excuse, uber rider do pay taxes and because its internet based, you don't have boundary, you're limitless that's what the world is migrating into, analog to digital. And yes it has its own disadvantages on like every other things but has more advantages...
