The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Plateau State governorship election inconclusive.
The state returning electoral officer who is the Vice Chancellor of Benue State University of Agriculture, Richard Kimbir, made the declaration at exactly 3:31 a.m.
He explained that the margin between the two major parties must be in excess of the total registered voters of the areas where election was held.
The incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) polled 583,255 while his opponent, Jeremiah Useni, polled 538,326.
The state governorship candidate for the Alliance for a New Nigeria (ANN) Alex Ladan, came third, polling 2,216 votes.

The electoral officer furthered explained that the margin between the APC and PDP is 44, 929, while the cancelled vote is 49, 377.
Mr Limber also said INEC would have to conduct a fresh election in 14 local government areas, out of the 17 in the state.
These are Jos East, Jos North, Jos South, Kanam, Langtang North, Langtang South, Mangu, Panshin, Kanke, Mikang, Quanpan, Riyom, Shendam, and Wase.
He also said the reasons why the results in some polling units were cancelled were due to overvoting, manual voting, and violence.

The thing is everyone is scared of what happened in Osun, if it's done free and fair without rigging and voters intimidation by the military and thugs no one will make fuss about what the law says but this is Nigeria, never trust politicians, we play backward and do or die politics.

don't mind them They are just postponing the inevitable defeat and more heartbreak as There is no how that all the 49,377 voters in the affected polling units are going to vote. The best we may get is a 35000 to 40000 voters and we are leading with 44929. So what are we saying? The election has been won and lost. Congratulations Governor Lalong.
INEC is only playing games. The rules are clear. Where card readers are not used, election cannot be said to be held therefore, we cannot be talking of cancelling a non existing results.

That's the best they can do now to avoid or reduce lots of litigations. It is very close call because now politicians battle for their survival after presidential own. This is the real local that put your trust first, than sentiment.
Besides we can see why bubu never allow them to have their elections first, but presidential. It would have been disaster for him. Its all about calculation.

They've been celebrating their supposed victories in some States without blaming INEC. But wherever an APC candidate is declared winner, they start wailing and calling INEC biased and compromised.

So Jeremiah Useni is still seeking political office 21 years after Abacha’s death?

Do these folks not have anything useful to do than to greedily suck on the tities of Mama Nigeria?

Apc has won the election because it will be difficult for pdp to upturn the margin considering the number of registered voters in the areas the rerun will take place.

WINTER IS COMING.

almost 5 inconclusive Election already?

Am glad that incumbents and strong forces are receiving strong opposition in this election (well except in Lagos). The effect of this is an eye-opener to politicians to value the Electorate.

It's ok, let PDP win seeming APC stronghold and let APC win PDP strongholds, it will make them understand that stronghold is a matter of Electorate satisfaction.

Meanwhile, an average Nigerian chooses a party and votes them across all elections. So why is the overall state polls in gubers not tallying with Presidential? Is it that average Nigerians are no longer average? Or people became woke and prevented massive rigging?

I should be asking you if you can't read. I'm only saying PDP guys should stop condemning INEC for declaring some States' elections inconclusive since the margin ain't up to the number of cancelled votes.
