Recently, Around about 11am on Wednesday, a four-storeyed building containing residential buildings, a nursery and primary school as well as a shop complex on the ground floor, collapsed at Ita Faji on the Lagos Island, killing at least 20 persons and trapping many people inside.

It was reported that the said building had been marked for demolition but somehow, authorities didn't demolish the house (maybe due to "Nigerian Factor"


Now, the Lagos State Government, in a " fire Brigade approach " has marked forty houses in that neighborhood for demolition.

Let us use this opportunity to remind the Lagos State Government to rehabilitate the Carter Bridge (first constructed in 1901) and is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. They should not wait until it collapses, traps, kills and destroy lives and properties before they would act.
