Cross River state corp members were allegedly tear gassed earlier today while protesting unpaid allowances by INEC.

According to a video going viral on social media, the corps members can be seen scampering after they were allegedly tear gassed by the police. The corps members of the NYSC scheme were said to be protesting the non payment of their allowances by INEC.

I can relate. I participated in the just concluded elections as a serving Corps member in Plateau State and I'll have to say that the NYSC DG must, as a matter of urgency, engage the leadership of INEC on the ill treatment meted out on Corps members during and after elections. It's puzzling that Corps members would have to lead a demonstration before stipends for their efforts will be paid them. It's not funny anymore. I remember how we were almost dispersed with these canisters, if not for God that took control of the situation, simply because the EO refused to release monies accrued to us which he had right there in his office.

I am starting to think that people like Ken Saro wiwa that were unjustly murdered placed a curse on this country b4 they bit the dust

We are all witnesses to the ongoing protests in Algeria that have led to the resignation of the president, despite how large the crowds were, for once we didn't hear security agents using teargas to disperse them or killing anyone but Naija police will never be civil in their approach.
