The member elect, Bende North state constituency of Abia state Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has said the former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is the figure to engender equity and sense of belonging to the people of South East region as the ninth senate sets soon.



He said this on Tuesday when he featured in ABN TV’s TALK MAKE I TALK show in Umuahia.

He called on APC to zone the Senate Presidency to the South East in the spirit of equity.

“If we want to talk about equity, the number three man in the country should come from the south East.

“Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is the most eminently qualified to be the senate president. He has the contact and the reach, he can stand tall among his colleagues. If he does not get the senate president and the deputy senate president, Igbos generally are in trouble. It means no Igbo man will be among the principals of the national assembly or of the senate and it will affect us. It will increase the feelings of marginalization” he said.

Hon. Chijioke defeated Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, the deputy speaker of Abia State House of Assembly in the just conclude 2019 state assembly election.
