...Says he should return to Cameroon or ‘seek naturalisation’

A group identified as the Coalition of Minority Tribes in Nigeria has called on Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to apologise to Nigerians and return to Cameroon or seek naturalisation.

Atiku sobbing at his Campaign Headquarters The group made the demand following the claim of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Atiku is a nationality of Cameroon and not a Nigerian. The group said what Atiku has done by concealing his identity is tantamount to crimes against humanity and that he must tender an unreserved apology to Nigerians.

Addressing a news conference on Monday, Abdulmuminu Hassan, secretary-general of the group said Ibrahim Babangida, former head of state, refused to appoint Atiku as the comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service because he realised the true nationality of Atiku. The PDP candidate is a retired customs officer.

Hassan gave Atiku a 21-day ultimatum to return to Cameroon to reunite with his family members. Full text of his speech below:

This same scenario could also be the reason why former President Olusegun Obasanjo refused to allow him to succeed him as President of Nigeria in 2007.

This much was stated by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in his autobiography “My Watch” where he stated in unequivocal terms that the paternity of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was “shadowy.”

We are therefore constrained to state that it is such a shame that the Nigerian authorities have allowed such a sham fester for decades without detecting, and thereby causing Nigeria and Nigerians the opportunity to develop her country the way Nigerians would do.

The Conference of Minority Tribes in Nigeria is indeed alarmed that the paternity of Alhaji Atiku was unlet undetected and he aspired and held the number two position of Vice President in Nigeria. His consequent actions while he was Vice President of Nigeria tells of a man who was hell-bent on destroying the country.

Consequently, the Conference of Minority Tribes in Nigeria wishes to use this medium to issue a 21-day ultimatum to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar return to Cameroon to reunite with his family members. This is important to save Nigerians the trauma of having to deal with his nationality.

The Conference of Minority also wishes to advise Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to in an alternative solution seek naturalization as a Nigerian by applying to the Federal Ministry of Interior in Nigeria. This way Nigerians would forgive him for his sins and show him understanding since he has lived the better part of his life in Nigeria. Though at a great disservice to Nigeria.

The Conference of Minority Tribes in Nigeria shall not hesitate to mobilize its members across the nook and crannies in Nigeria to a street protest should Alhaji Atiku Abubakar fail to tender unreserved apologies to Nigerians, and also return to Cameroon or seek naturalisation in Nigeria.

Mere wishful thinking don't develop nations. Development is but a conscious effort driven by ideas and strong leadership. It takes the wisdom of the old and the energy of the young to break new grounds.
Pre-World War II Japan was a global superpower, blown to kingdom-come by The U.S. in 1945 and capitulated thereafter.
Output in 1945 was just 30% of the pre-war era. By 1953 they were done with foreign aids. 1954, average income returned to pre-war levels. By 1958 they announced a full recovery from the War. The "Ikeda plan" was unveiled in 1960; to double the nations income in just 10 years. Western Economists threw a wet blanket over the blueprint. Well, they achieved that in 7 years. They were admitted into the fold of the most developed nations (OECD) in 1964.
Yes, they rose from the ashes in under 20years.

So while our feudal lord and his liegemen keep debating who's Cameroonian, Jamaican or Egyptian, let it be made known that we're "that that is wrong" with Nigeria. Oh! I just remembered - "we're making progress". The most worrisome thing is that those on the bloodied corridors of power insists we're doing just fine.

Atiku allowed his desperation to push him to political retirement in Nigeria. Some set of gluttonic individuals who are hell bent on milking him dry have so deceived him to his calamity.

He will so regret the day he took that one decision to seek for the mandate he never had.

He should shove his apology into his Cameroonian as.s! grin

..because Kanu said so...why didn't the coalition advise before Kalu? Would they also advise Buhari to go for a DNA test...as Kanu has challenged?

Nigeria is a joke...

Lugard and his friends put us in this dare situation. We were living well by ourselves, with our different cultures, traditions, religion, character and aspirations until they force mainly three different forces together as one country...

Hunger has made so many people in this country turn stvpid!
Seriously?

Did this minority tribes bother to think that the bogus claim about Atiku's nationality also affect millions from the North? Atiku isn't the only one from Adamawa that happened to be a part of Northern Cameroun before it became a part of Nigeria. So, they should ask almost the entire population of Adamawa State to get annexed into Cameroon.
This type of politics APC and Buhari has introduced will be the death of Nigeria.
Let's see how this madness will play out.

Apologize to Nigerians? SMH

Of all the problems facing us as a country, it is. Atiku's origin that APC is worried about. The irony of it all is that, Atiku spent so much money in 2015 to make sure that Buhari became president.

We are not developed because most of you guys want to work in an office. You don't want to work with your hands.

You want to live in an airconditioned house, and pay very low bills for electric power....which means that the power sector in this country cannot fund itself adequaltely, and as a result, we don't have light. And we cannot improve refining power, or pay for better gas processing because everything must be subsidsed, even at the expense of profits and investment.

You don't want to get your hands dirty inventing things, and you mock the apprentice mechanic and plumber as an 'illiterate'. You don;t want to invent or create, you want ready made...ready made...and you waste billions on your business importing stuff.

You complain about APC that is in power now...yes, they are all a bad lot, but you want to replace them with PDP which has some of the same people that were in the bad APC government, and many of the peoiple that did nothing for 16 years, and you pretend that all the corruption that led to the mess of the last 3 -4 years never happened. You fight over tribe, open tribal trheads that mock tribes for being thieves, armed robbers, and traffickers, etc....and you support corrupt people because they are on your side.

You want to be like Japan, a country where people worked their asses off to develop, while in Nigeria, our offices are populated with people who are not working hard enough and doung nothing. You want a government job where you can sit down, laze around and collect your salary at the end of the day...which you would use to purchanse imported stuff.

So, better make the changes needed. Work hard. Stop focusing on oil money...and yes that includes those from oil producing areas. Stop fighting for Biafra, Sharia, OODUA, middle belt, Boko, etc...and work, work work.

These guys are simply stupid.....Numbskulls Dundee united at it's best, when he was vice president he wasn't from Cameroon, when he was with APC he wasn't from Cameroon....all of a sudden Atiku is from Cameroon.................is that how youths in Sudan & Algeria are standing for their country?

If you are asking Atiku to apologize to Nigerians.........then we will not ask for apology from Buhari.......we will ask for a pound of his flesh for inflicting so much pain & lying to Nigerians.
