Former Governor of Abia State and Senator-elect for Abia North Senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Thursday met with Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan (APC, Yobe) behind closed doors in the nation's capital, Abuja.

Details of the meeting is still sketchy as at press time. Igbere TV, however, gathered that it may not be unconnected with the ninth Assembly Leadership.

Igbere TV recalls that Kalu, winner of the March 23 National Assembly election in Abia North, has on several occasions called on the leadership of his party, the APC to zone the Deputy Senate President position to the South-East zone to enable him vie for the position.

Lawan on the other hand, is the adopted candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for the position of Senate President of the incoming ninth National Assembly.

I am Igbo, but I think Orji Kalu is not deserving of being Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate.

With the total mess that Aba is, Orji should go and sit down.

If you want to be the next SP, align with PDP. Lawan is our second choice after Goje.

Ndume is a no-no, but he is proving to be what we need at the senate right now.

We trust Saraki to help us get a Senate President that can deepen democracy like he did.

it's all good for democracy...but kalu should read the lines well lawan has shown not be a sellable candidate...if three guys like Ndume,Goje,lawan were to contest lawan won't win cos of how apc are dictatorial with his candidacy...so if orji align with him to get deputy senate president im don fail... someone like alimikhena might just get it...let hope nass members are not cowed to decide who govern them...
