What Happened To The "Nkan Nbe" Type Of Programs? by TewMuch: 2:52am On Sep 19, 2010 |
I used to love listening to those "true life" stories. Although they were scary as hell . I am wondering if anyone has come up with such a show in Nigeria, since the other guy( i forgot his name) died (RIP) . All those witches and wizards got him, though he was a very brave man. I cant believe no one is brave enough to shame the devil anymore. 3 Likes 1 Share |

i cant guarantee their credibility, but then again, why would you make up shows like this? i remember one episode i saw and they showed the woman who gave birth to tortoise and she was backing it with wrapper. She claimed that she couldnt throw the tortoise away cuz it came from her womb but her neighbours all ganged up against her calling her a witch or something similar. |

FFA: thats because parents like you have taught them that their language is "razzed" "vernacular" and that they must excel in english and only english as a language to show where ur money for school fees is going and so you can pose amongst your equally misguided fellow parents. they are threatened with their lives NOT TO SPEAK ANY NIGERIAN LANGUAGE in schools, some parents have even gone to complain about why there is nigerian language on the school timetable and how such periods can be better spent learning phonetics or other foriegn languages like french!!! ditto the homes where the children must speak english and queens english only to mommy and daddy. mommy and daddy sef no dey speak them language!!! so there u have it. you cant your cakes and eat it. cue all the funny behavior your children have these days!!! reminds me of a research i saw once, simple question was " in what language do you think?" or what language does your sub-conscious (mind) speak? the answer has a lot to do with what kind of behavior you end up exhibiting!!! cue certain scenarios and your responses in your mind and you will see that when you reason in your mother-tongue, youe behavior and reactions are different from your "oyinbo goju" responses for the topic, those programs had better end up dead, i truly fail to see the point to them except sensationalism. the mind can be better applied to saner things than ridiculous claims and doubtable events |

^^^ You're right, some schools forbid the speaking of Yoruba. I went to schoolin Lagos for a few yrs, that's when I was prohibited from speaking Ekiti. I will never forvie that school Thank God I didnt school there for long |

ifyalways: Ify U hardly believe som of the stories ke? what about the woman that gave birth to a tortise that @Cute500 talked about, do u also doubt it?. . My sister don't doubt it o, it's big time real! Tell u what, since u might doubt @Cute story, then no need of me sharin one of the episode that i watched b'cos, u can NEVER believe it. If i even tell u about it, i'll send u a mobile # that u'll call to confirm if it's true or not (som1 that we washed it together) ! I would have loved to share another story (Not Nkan Nbe) with @all, buh since some may not also believe me, i will just use it as an advice to all the ladies. N also to the men b'cos, it might be of useful when your wife is pregnant. If u know that your mum is not in good terms with her (your mum's) sister, PLS, PLS n PLS, don't eat whatever food she prepares when YOU, yourself is pregnant and have been admitted to Hospital, when your mum is not around! I know it's not all aunt's that can be that 'EVIL', and i know it's so hard for you to believe that your aunt can do such Evil to you, buh pls take this my candid advice as 1 of those lessons that we learn everyday in life b'cos, this world that we'r livin today is unpredictable! NOTE: It's not a hearsay, buh expirience !!! Take @Akinolasam's thread for example: "MAN BUTCHER'S SISTER'S SON". 1 Like |

Its incredible when people refer to there native culture as razz. I can't imagine the English or the Americans doing it. As for me, i strongly wish that i could speak Ekiti but alas i am now grown and its sorta late. Gator, i wish i could speak it like you o, i can only speak basic yoruba, to make matters worse, i can barely even read it. |
Re: What Happened To The "Nkan Nbe" Type Of Programs? by Nobody: 5:58am On Sep 21, 2010 |
davidif:LOL I wish I can speak it fluently, but school in Lagos made me forget it all. But my mom is trying to teach it to me nowadays. . . . enjoying every bit of the lesson 50 is never too grown |
