The problem of this country is not the minimum wage but the standard of living. There is nothing wrong with earning 2k per month if with that 2k u can buy food stuff for the month, pay ur house rent, buy cloths for ur self , ur wife and children, pay for electricity and still save for the future after meeting ur needs for the month, the govt shld spend more time in working on the reduction"cost of living than increasing" rather than minimum wage which is a waste of time

The law is an ass and it will greatly increase the unemployment rate. In my home town Ondo, it's rare to meet someone earning 20,000 a month.

Economists warned people about effects of increasing minimum wage whether it be inflation or unemployment but the unions lobbied the government anyway. The people pressured the government to comply so it's time to lay in the bed that was made.

Not one senator has gotten up to say we should have a minimum wage or to remove the minimum wage from exclusive list. (You could scrap all of item 34.)

Price of fuel was 87 naira and minimum wage was 18,000 naira.
18,000÷87=206.8965517 litres ( meaning the minimum wage can only buy 207 litres of fuel)
30,000÷145= 206.8965517 litres (meaning the minimum wage can only buy 207 litres of fuel), exactly the same amount even to the last decimal point.
