The National Secretary, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Mr Saleh Alhassan, has admitted that their group demanded for N100bn from the Federal Government. According to Miyetti Allah, the N100bn they are demanding from FG, is for the construction of ranches and not for amnesty as reported on social media. In an interview with Punch, Mr Saleh Alhassan further revealed that Goodluck Jonathan promised to give them the money upon his reelection, but the initiative was suspended after he lost in 2015.

He said; “That is a mischievous statement. Do they pay money like that? Have they ever paid any money like that? That N100bn has been on the table for mini-ranches since 2014 when (former) President Goodluck Jonathan was trying to address the lingering crisis between farmers and herders. So, part of that money was, I think, used by state governors under the committee chaired by the then Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam. But I don’t think the bulk of the money has reached the pastoralists, the herders.

As part of that policy, they (the Federal Government) are trying to see how they can now assist livestock producers to address farmers/herders conflicts via a policy. So, people now saying they have given Miyetti Allah N100bn to stop kidnappings are just being mischievous because from what we have observed, there are certain people that are twisting narratives.”

The National Secretary, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Mr Saleh Alhassan, has said his group indeed demanded from the Federal Government the payment of N100bn to herders but for the construction of ranches and not for amnesty as reported on social media. Alhassan made the clarification in an interview with The PUNCH on Thursday.

He claimed former President Goodluck Jonathan promised to give them the money and that was what informed their decision to support his re-election in 2015. The Miyetti Allah chief, however, said that after Jonathan left, the initiative was suspended, hence the decision of the group to present the matter to the President Muhammadu Buhari government.

Why is IG of Police in a meeting discussing building of ranches? Why is minister of interior in the meeting. Make this guy talk true, na ramadhan we dey, if he lie God fit vex for hin matter. Make he kuku tell truth.

Yes, Jonathan's government.

I'm sure those that always scream "government is a continuum" can relate.

Did El-Rufai not confess to paying them to reduce their killings

Kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has said his government has traced some violent, aggrieved Fulani to their countries and paid them to stop the killings of Southern Kaduna natives and the destruction of their communities saying that the renewed violence is carried out by bandits.

El-Rufai made this known while fielding questions from some select Journalists in his office in Kaduna.

He said: “For southern Kaduna, we didn’t understand what was going on and we decided to set up a committee under Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (rtd) to find out what was going on there. What was established was that the root of the problem has a history starting from the 2011 post election violence.

“Fulani herdsmen from across Africa bring their cattle down towards Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria. The moment the rains starts around March, April, they start moving them up to go back to their various communities and countries.

“Unfortunately, it was when they were moving up with their cattle across Southern Kaduna that the elections of 2011 took place and the crisis trapped some of them.

“Some of them were from Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Mali and Senegal. Fulanis are in 14 African countries and they traverse this country with the cattle.“So many of these people were killed, cattle lost and they organised themselves and came back to revenge.

“So a lot of what was happening in Southern Kaduna was actually from outside Nigeria. We got a hint that the late Governor Patrick Yakowa got this information and he sent someone to go round some of these Fulani communities, but of course after he died, the whole thing stopped. That is what we inherited. But the Agwai committee established that.

“We took certain steps. We got a group of people that were going round trying to trace some of these people in Cameroon, Niger republic and so on to tell them that there is a new governor who is Fulani like them and has no problem paying compensations for lives lost and he is begging them to stop killing.“In most of the communities, once that appeal was made to them, they said they have forgiven

.There are one or two that asked for monetary compensation. They said they have forgiven the death of human beings, but want compensation for cattle. We said no problem, and we paid some. As recently as two weeks ago, the team went to Niger republic to attend one Fulani gathering that they hold every year with a message from me.

MAKH(Miyetti Allah Kautai Hore) should stop roping in GEJ into this issue. GEJ's business with them stopped the moment he lost the Election.
As at now, it is some kind of UNDUE INFLUENCE they are seeking trying to armtwist Buhari's Government to give them a N100billion without documentaton to build Ranch.

You want a Loan of a hundred billion naira, apply like me or my Organisation to your Bank.

This is one of the reasons why Emefiele is unduely privileged. He has just been yesing Buhari's demands without reasoning.

Very stupid people.

Miyetti whatever is a private business.
Except they want to tell us that they were killing Nigerians to get the attention of the FG to give them this huge amount.

Are they the only private livestock business people?

This is not right.

The FG should fund other private business owners too.

Bloody terrorists.
