he should have focused on what the common man needs, like jobs and roads and healthcare. with all the money that state gets, they could have done much better than a golf course |

The interior looks ok but the exterior feels sub-standard.doesn't look like a place where Tiger and Els would play. The grass still has lots of brown. |

Maybe Attah wants Uyo to be a tourist attraction, hence its focus in building a golf course. Actually like its inclusion of palm trees in the setting. So, anybody wey go jam Naija for Christmas, lets hook up there, my2cents, samsilo, londoncool, and the rest . . . |

Good to see our govts have their priorities in order. First a glorified shopping centre, then a holiday resort and now a golf course. For whose benefit are all these govt projects? |

Les Middle Class. Not everyone likes going abroad all the time for Holidays. Nigerians can stay in Nigeria and relax in Nigeria. |

No problem with that but let the private sector pay for it. Govt. other then creating a conducive atmosphere for such projects shouldn't get involved. It should concentrate on providing basic facilities like schools, health care, roads and infrastructure for all citizens. Not just an elite few. 1 Like |

Well that's just the Problem. Nigeria is an Emerging Economy. The Third Largest Economy in Africa. Although Nigeria has Poverty and all that, Nigeria also has a Growing Middle Class. To support the economy, Nigeria must attend to Basic Infrastructure like you mentioned as well as Leisure Facilities to act as a backbone for the Hospitality Sector. Nigeria also needs to create other means of Revenue to address basic needs. Oil is fast running out, and such ventures such as this Resort in Uyo, Akwa Ibom will help enhance the Tourism sector in Nigeria and thus create revenue, that can be further used to build schools etc. Apart from generating revenue, such initiatives also alleviate the unemployment rate and thus reduce crime and instability. Lets Face it, Nigeria basically has Oil and Agriculture to utilize, in a couple of decades, Oil will be out the Picture, and a new Revenue income earner like Tourism will have to take it's place. So at the End of the Day, such initiatives like this one do not benefit the Rich and taunt the poor, they sustain the Middle Class and Bridge the Gap of Rich and poor through Job Creation and Income Generation, like I said earlier. |
