So What is the essence of a Local Gov, chairmen and Councellors if they have no independent allocations to better their area of juridiction. They are just figure heads who are elected only to collect salary abi?
Abeg i need someone to give me 1million he/she is no longer using... I want to escape from this entity called Nigeria

These governors are not serious. I don't think there's any breach of the constitution here; it's just a backyard policy.

Simply, NFIU seeks that the JAAC shouldn't be a transactional account; it should only be used for onward statutory transfers to LGs. No body is dictating how governors spend the state allocation. Buhari is only helping them to stop perpetuating poverty at the local level.
PMB, we got your back on this.
The national and state assemblies are not ready to stand for the common man.GF can go to seven hells.

No need for shout out by the state governors, there is no way NFIU can go beyond there mandate to discharge there duty, the governors are just looking for a small opportunity to siphon funds .

The constitution will have to be amended first. We can't escape the fact that the country needs to be restructured.

This decision is good, the governors are stealing money meant for local governments which are the reasons for no progress in the states. This is not to say that the chairmen are saints too, because they use the little the governors gives to them to carry women, build mansion and exotic cars you might think they are car dealers. They are all thieves. The youths will deal with chairmen of their respective state if their money is not well utilised, the decision is highly welcomed. In fact, it has been long over due.

Which youths will deal with Chairmen of Local Government? Yeah right. To give autonomy to the local governments, the constitution will have to be amended first.

If you ask many who are their counsellors, chairmen, commissioners, state assembly members and so on the answer will be Buhari, Buhari, Buhari.....

This is why governors who should be held responsible for many ills happening in the state keep escaping responsibility.

Imagine how these governors are stifling growth in Local Governments by refusing them autonomy to use their finances.

Yet the same governors are championing true federalism. Using ignorant youths online to champion their course. Charity they say begins at home. Let the govs practice what they preach by allowing LG autonomy. This will in turn make some LG chairmen more powerful than the Gov. Take Obiakpor for example, take Alimosho, etc etc.

The local government allocation is just one of the vehicles these governors steal their states money. Most states owe their local government workers salary and no development at all at the grassroots level.
That is why most local government chairmen are just puppets of their governors.

The constitution doesn’t need amendments in this regard. NFIU acted within its powers. It did not give instructions to any state or local government. The instructions were given to the financial institutions that are within its purview. The penalties that it stipulated for contravention are against the banks that refused to comply. A bank can choose to disobey and pay the 100% fine of the amount involved.

This is akin to USA imposing economic sanctions against a country. It cannot directly force another nation to enforce the sanctions on its enemy but what it does is to extend the sanction to any financial institution that help in breaching the economic sanction. Since almost all financial institutions need USA, they will comply and thus force the whole world to help USA implement the sanction.
