How can this one be a Sheriff?

Can she hunt down outlaws like Bonnie, Clyde, Butch, Sundance Kid, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Harvey Logan etc in this her ugly maternity gown?
I'm very sure she has chronic arthritis and Alzheimer's.

Even by looking in her eyes I can tell she has robbed before.
