and some one on this same forum was trying 2 discourage posting our issues here. Tnx my guy ur rly God sent. I hope this may also be of help 2 any1 as regards the BAS/ESP lights, its easy 2 fix jst get a break light switch for abt 2K, then have a car electric specialist fix it under the steering cover and it does the magic but 2 make sure it works ur cruise control should be back fuctioning. Sovled mine ystday rly easy and by the way I drive a W202 C230K.

Hello bro
I have a 202 c230 kompressor. I have 3 problems that are really eating me up.
1. the Esp/Bas light comes on and off (despite doing alignment)
2. the check Engine light is also on now, after doing a scan, P1235 error code came up (which i found out to be "supercharger function" wink

, i have notice that my super charger stalls while driving).

3. How did you got rid of your SRS light beacause mine has been on/off (mostly on) ever since i bought the car.

Please, i recently bought a w124 230e aka vboot saloon car whose engine was changed to a tokunbo one shortly before i bought it.
I now intend to carry out my first service on this car, what engine oil specification would you advise i use?

lol, these engines are bullet proof and will run on almost any blend of oil. the choosy engines are the newer engines and they specify mobil one in the manuals and engine bay even. you can ask the service station what they recommend for your particular model i.e w124 with i guess over 100 000km. i use the same engine, and i use the regular 10w-40 from mobil or forte oil. good luck.

So I went to this @Bala Guy in the far northeast where I reside. He's good I must say. He fixed my ABS fault(changed a cable there). Fixed my o2 sensor error and repaired a brake issue. such a wonderful Guy. fully scanned my car and repaired all faults. I was amazed. my 2003 c240 runs fine now. Thanks to this thread for opening my eyes and to him too for fixing my faults. I now drive comfortably. its my 1st Benz and in McDonald's voice... I'm luvin it. Thanks to all y'all.

please fellow benz lovers, what steering fluid do you use? the one that came with the car is short. its a 2005 ML 350 SE. some one was recommending a Dextron 3 grade fluid, but all i see around (TOTAL/Mobil) is Dextron 2 grade .
any ideas

Just consider how much you have and can get it.The model you have chosen is a great car and no inherent faults.Just scan and pick a healthy one .cheers

Oando Dextron 111 is available at all oando stations at 1k for 1ltr.

The problem is likely to be from the Instrument cluster or the fuel level sensing unit in the fuel tank itself.
Was there any erratic indication before it went totally down?
By the way, hope you have fuel in your tank? cheesy

Hello guys,

I am planning to upgrade to a Mercedes benz. I wad initially looking to W204 anything 2010 and above but I've also read both about quality of ride of airmatic suspension and horror stories of same airmatic suspension. The C class is notorious for EIS failure and the 7 speed transmission is problematic.

Read that it's very expensive to repair and also fails very easily and regularly.
This suspension is not offered in the W204 C class, it's only offered on the latest W205 (damn too expensive for me). It's offered in the E class and above. I developed interest in the E class W212 (which I believe is 2010 -2012).

I would have ordinarily wanted the C class but it lacks the luxury airmatic, hence why I'm considering the class.

Kindly tell me the pros and cons of this ride, the reliability of the airmatic suspension and also transmission from users of these cars or people who've had contact with these cars.

secondly your needs to under a Star scanner that would pin point the exact problem and take Guess work out. where in Lagos are you? My Mechanic can handle it I'm sure. He is located around Ifako Beside Italian Tiles and Marbles. 08029498260 Code Red Technology.

Sorry I've taken this long to reply,the car was scanned and a reprogramming was done, the instrument cluster was changed 18k and that was it for the head lights are back to normal, even other niggling issues I had were resolved(this was like 4months ago or so)
Recently, I got a check engine light, scanned with my Bluetooth OBDII adapter and got the msgs attached in the screen shot, is this what makes it sorta jerk?

I have a brother gunning for the 2004 S430. He asked for my opinion on the car and I just said its benz so expect something nice and expensive. What are the pros and cons of that car, I need help pls. Kinda saw a post where the airmatic shocks are sold at 230k, how true is it? What are the common problems? Thanks house.

Hi all, I'm a car enthusiast and a lover of German cars. My love for the 3 finger star heightened after I tired my dad's newly acquired 2006 E320 V8...its a saloon tho. I'm seeking y'all honest opinion as I'm looking at getting my first ever car, I have a budget of 1.6m which I was looking at getting a 06corrola sport but then this mercedes keeps drawing me in. Pls help a brother choose the most recent mercedes fitting the budget. Thank you

. . . sorry to burst your bubble but only the E500, E500 4matic and E55 AMG comes in V8. The 2006 E320 you drove is a V6.

My bad, I believe I made a mistake... It's an E430 with 16plugs, I'll take pic and post when I go home after my POP to clarify cos I know Nairalanders don't believe without a picture. Below is what the mercedes looks like. I bet you didn't know this model exist, Google is at your disposal
