The entry into the presidential race by former EFCC boss, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has been revealed as plan B by political heavyweights and prominent Nigerians to ensure that a credible candidate emerges president in the 2011 polls. Sources privy to the game plan reveal that Ribadu is a stand-by candidate should Jonathan lose the PDP presidential primary to his main challenger, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida who is seen in many quarters as agent of retardation.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, stated that gurrulous and dubious politicians, especially the governors who will decide the party's presidential flagbearer can afford to sell their consciences to money bags especially Ibb who is said to be ready to spend all his ill-gotten wealth to clinch the ticket.

Ribadu's aspiration is a result of high profile politicking by eminent Nigerians from all the geopolitical zones to ensure that Nigeria does not slide off the path of development, which is being experienced. Notable Nigerians on this redemption mission include elderstatemen, Ex-Generals, Religious and Traditional leaders, Ex-Public office Holders, and Council of Ulamas.

This is good news. Its either Jonathan or Ribadu.

It is the natural order, we can't afford to continue wasting as a nation.

I pray this works. And may God continue to strenghten those behind this game plan.

It will work, because people are tired of the way Nigeria has been going. Each and every youth must pitch in with all their energy in every way they can. There are only two good men standing.

This is just simply somebody's thought process.

As interesting as it sounds, nobody has any concrete plans on the grounds for this.

Politics is a very dynamic process and their will be all sorts of re-allignment of forces after the PDP primaries no matter who wins.

But to suggest anybody is physically hatching this plan is simply one of those newspaper write ups.

Correct. All the other parties are waiting for PDP's move - unitl then they will continue beating around the bush.

This theory seems to lend credence to the real reason why Jonathan brought back Ribadu. Or what else has he (Jonathan) used Ribadu for? We are watching. Any option that keeps Mr Babangida out is good.
Re: Nuhu Ribadu; Plan B. by Nobody: 9:54pm On Sep 25, 2010
I have said this before and I continue to say it again although in an updated way from my earlier assertion. RIbadu is running a script for the OBJ camp. But either way, the plan will back fire on OBJ for good. Nigeria has refused to work primarily for the overbearing influence of our past/perpertual leaders. People like OBJ and IBB - who have refused to retire. They dont have any good plans for Naija. This is a personal battle for them. Unfortunately, they have chosen Nigeria as their battle ground instead of a real ring.

A Ribadu as Mr. President will be very difficult for OBJ to steer. RIBADU will be fully in-charge. It will definitely be better than a Jonathan who seems to be having alot of difficulties asserting himself.

Anything but the PDP will be great for Nigeria.

Ribadu was not brought back by Jonathan, he only granted him pardon. It was Ribadu's choice to come back to his fatherland.

The reason for granting Ribadu pardon have something to do with pacifying the international community.

And BTW OBJ will back no one else in this election but Jonathan. I have seen enough of OBJ's politics to anticipate his action.

hahahaa. Believe that and u can believe anything. Ribadu was brought back for this script he is running for OBJ now.
second, OBJ is too bad to put all his egg in one basket. But like I said, we pray it will back-fire for the good of naija. OBJ stinks n loves to play dirty. If they can get a role for Ibori as we speak now, u'll witness another presidential amnesty.

Naija will b a better country if we can retire these men
Re: Nuhu Ribadu; Plan B. by orangemen: 10:50pm On Sep 25, 2010
this is to show how stupid we are as a country.
if we believe so much in jonathan's quality, and we have jega who is not corrupt and we also believe jonathan is the best man for the post so why worrying?
in the first place, what is the need for election if not for the choice of the masses to reign?
let them make the ground smooth for everybody to run and let the masses choose who they want.
no nigerian politician is good least of all, RIBADU.
the truth here is that obasanjo is doing everything possible to remain in power.
using these so-called good ppl to deciever the masses is not really working for them.
the same way they tried to use soludo in getting anambra state and the ppl refused.
as long as jonathan and ribadu are working hand in hand with obasanjo makes them corrupt too.

What script? you people believe too much in conspiracies. Yes OBJ is selfish and such is the case with most PDP leaders. But the level at which you guys talk about scripts, plots, intrigues . . . . bla bla bla simply does not exist.

Yes this people plan sometimes but they also take advantage of existing situations as they happen. The idea that the reason Ribadu is running is because of some movie script written by OBJ is simply not on. When you talk about these things in these terms you are simply helping these folks propagate fear and myths that does not exist.

Spot on !!!! This is the type of thinking and utterance that creates the fear in the minds of many Nigerians that a PDP victory is a foregone conclusion !!! Totally defeatist pontification that has gotten us to the sorry state we are in today !!! Ribadu himself stated recently that he is sick of OBJ being mentioned to him all the time . The former EFCC boss also stated that he has not spoken to OBJ for 2 years!!!!!

What is the matter with us in Nigeria ? Must we continue to fear and deify men who are nearly in their grave? When IBB said "the young are not ready to lead Nigeria" he may have a point given the way some Nigerians talk !!! Has it occured to some Nigerians that Ribadu has grown into an internationally respected figure in his own right? Nigerians should carry on talking about OBJ, IBB, Atiku and other relics from the past. In the end we will get the leader we deserve !!!
