So, If you want to change from broad match to phrase match you will have to use a quotation, like “Fashion blog“.
Exact keyword

This is the most relevant keyword, it drives more of quality than quantity. Lets say, someone types in Fashion blog in UK, your content will show up to the searcher. But, if someone types in Fashion in UK, your content won’t show up, because is not an exact match. So, if you are thinking of changing to exact match just use a bracket, i.e [Fashion blog in UK].

How do I know whether this keyword is competitive?

Good! In a game like this what matter most is how relevant the keyword is, how much traffic does it generate on monthly avg, is the competition so high? let me say, search for a keyword that the relevance and traffic is high but competition is low.
