The South-east leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Support Committee (PSC) have rally round the candidacy of Emeka Nwajiuba for the speakership of the 9th House of Representatives.

They also called on the APC national leadership to zone the position to the South-east to foster national unity.
The group under the aegis of Presidential Support Committee (PSC) and South-east Equity Alliance (SEEA) comprising leaders of the APC region made the call on Wednesday in Owerri.

The South-east zonal coordinator of PSC, Engr Prince Chamberlain Adiaso expressed the groups unalloyed support for Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the House of Representatives member-elect representing Okigwe South to clinch the speakership

“It is an injustice for the South-west to produce the vice president of the country, and the national chairman of the party and still wants to lay claim to the speakership position.

“Barrister Emeka Nwajiuba being a detribalised Nigerian, should be considered for the position so that he can become a rallying point for the whole APC in the South-east geo-political region”, he said.

Further, he said the people of South-east assisted President Muhammad Buhari to get 25 percent votes in South-east,noting that zoning the speakership to the south-east was in line with President Buhari’s promise of inclusive government.

He said such zoning has become necessary considering the fact that APC made progress in 2019 elections in addition to the fact Nwajiuba is best qualified and most suited for the position because of his legislative experience.

“Nwajiuba as speaker would ensure the independence of the legislature and harmonious relationship with the executive and judicial arms of government. We are calling on all-well meaning Nigerians to allow the people of South-east produce the next speaker of the 9th assembly”.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of South East Equity Alliance and former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Nwoha Amaechi, said Nwajiuba’s cognate experience in legislation would make him a credible speaker of the house.

Also Kingsley Onunuju said the only way to put an end to issues of IPOB and MASOB agitation is to ensure that position like speakership is zoned to South-east.

The politics is supposed to be between the South and The North, but some people want it to be between the North and the South West.

In the North, it's about sharing things among North West, North East and North Central.

In the South, it has to be only the South West. So, let's see how it goes.

If the South cannot come together, with the South West ready to make sacrifices, everything will eventually go to the North.

The language will now be, "if you no eat, scatter it"

The south east should be encouraged in this administration by giving them a good position. All major zones should be represented.

Do you have a space (supermarket, Shops, Hospital, Restaurants, Hotel, Home & room e.t.c)and its important to keep away from dust, or isolates the noise or air conditioning? This is the perfect product for you.
The Magnetic PVC curtains fits both outdoor and indoor space.

A party that throws fairness to dustbin. I hope other regions join this cause. Call PDP all you want, the party is known for building unity across the country.

These 5% people always giving themselves false hope. What gives them the impression that yeebows who make it clear they are not Nigerians would be allowed to attain such a powerful position so as to sabotage the federal government cos they are not to be trusted with power even in the military you hardly find them in top positions because of their greed.

Nwajiuba has always been a Buhari supporter from his days in CPC more than Gbajabiamila.

This is the best rational explanation. Greed has always been the Achilles of most men, time will tell. This politics of grabbing all will only be for a short term and the table will turn again.

Truth is South East doesnt deserve the senate sit. We always watch the South West to run our race.

Why is my people too ignorant, annoying and arrogant?

We want the country to divide

We want to divide the south

We hate ourselves even in Igbo land

We hate APC

We're loosers indeed. You know we cannot WIN but want to scatter to prevent South West of the South from clinching the coveted position?

What is our problem in Igbo land?

When Gbajabiamila emerges hope it won't make you sad? I don't see an Igbo candidate winning... I'm Igbo by the way.

Some times commenting on nairaland is a waste of time. In some thread they are screaming why can't the south east contest or are they third class citizens as touted in some quarters, here now is a south eastener in a APC who have been with Buhari from the days of CPC contesting with the backing of some Igbos, and here we go again with people still having problems with that, asking what gave him the impression he would win or if others will vote for him.
Eish nairaland can be a bit hectic
